It's really depressing to see people down on Burke. It doesn't surprise me. People were down on Burks, and Kanter too.

Burke was top 3 in ROY, and made the 1st team all rookie team. He may not be an All Star, but I was pleased with his rookie campaign. He'll get better.

Not saying much given the bust of a draft it turned out to be. Burke will be a serviceable PG, nothing more. But kudos to DL. He had two shots to get it right at PG (Burke and MCW). He got one of them by trading up. It was a position of need and he drafted for need.

That's what we want from our PG though... do we really want someone like Chris Paul who's never gonna get you the Championship but costing you 40% of the payroll????

I'd rather have someone serviceable at a reasonable cost, who can set up teammates and hit open 3's.

This.

Randle is being wayyyy underrated by this board.

I'm fine with it though. The same thing happened with MCW last year and I was proven right there.

I still think mcw sucks.

His stats are inflated cause of his teams pace of play

He was pretty inefficient iirc

immediate impact - randle
best overall player 5 year years later - vonleh
best defensive player who will change the culture of organization - gordon

it really is a tough call. for the future of the organization you go vonleh & gordon. for the fans, you take randle because he will look and play like #5 pick.

i love vonleh's potential. love the idea of gordon who will become our swiss army knife. but sometimes as a fan, i want the top pick to drop 20/10 once in a while and only randle will do that out of the 3 right off the bat.

i did vote for gordon because we already have kanter & favors.

solution? move up and try to get jabari parker.

Totally disagree - Take a look at Burke's college stats. between his freshman and sophomore years he made huge improvements in his points per game, assists per game, FG%, 3FG% and free throws. this kid is driven, he will come back better and more prepared this year. he basically worked with a JV team against the varsity last year and the coaching well....

Honest question here, not rhetorical.

Why is Julius Randle so far down in this poll? I'm going to defer to you guys here, because I'm guessing there are some better basketball minds on here. But when I watched him he looked like a beast. It wasn't just that he was stronger than everyone, he looked quicker - super quick around the rim. He looked like Paul Milsap Upgrade Version at best, and a heavier Antawn Jamison at worst. What am I missing?

I think there has just been more time to scrutinize and he has had the spotlight on him unlike Vonleh. I want Randle

Limited upside relative to Gordon or Vonleh.

Randle won't be able to bully in the paint in the NBA. I can see him possibly reaching a Kanter level player but that is his ceiling. Great role player for the right team, just not us. If your going to bpa based on potential(You kinda have to because of how young these guys are) it definitely isn't randle.

Agreed, except I think his ceiling is lower.

He's more Hansbrough than he is Zach freaking Randolph.

I wouldn't be the least bit angry with Saric at #5, and those comparing him to Vesely are complete morons.

That is all.

Who we draft at #5 is entirely contingent on how the first 4 picks play out. Exum and Vonleh are probably the front-runners at the moment.
