Would you trade #5 + Favors for the #1 pick?

Would you trade Favor + #5 for the #1 pick?

Some ESPN dude in some other thread in chat thought something like Kanter + Hayward for #1 would work but would have to happen after the draft and have Haywards buy in.

So, what combination of players with no picks added could we offer so we can get 2 top 5 picks?
Also would our draft change depending on who we traded to get the #1.

I like the idea of Hayward and Kanter over any of the other players depending on who we can draft.

Too many what if scenarios here to even try to solve the riddle. My combo's of who I would be willing to part with, who Cleveland would want, and who we could draft at 1 and 5 almost makes my head explode.

Love Favors but as has been my stance, no one is safe if it makes the team better. This would make the team better. From what I have seen and read I think Embiid, Wiggins and Parker will all be better than Favors (or any other current jazz player).

Do the deal.

Hard to argue with this.

If it took 3 players I be most open to Hayward, Kanter and Burke but the Cavs do not need a PG... But at what point is to much to much?

Even I would trade Kanter as part of a deal for the no. 1

Not happening though. When Cavs say they want a C, they want rim protection.

3 players does sound steep, unless the third player was JLIII

We would still need decent players to play with the #1 if we got him.

For #1 I think I would do this trade. However. I do fear where that leaves us defensively. As most of us know, defense wins. And we can argue back and forth that Favors wasn't good defensively this year. But I wonder if those who say that relate defense to only steals and blocks? Cause defense is more than that. And finding a defensive big man who can move quick laterally is a rare thing. But yes, I would make that trade.

The defense would be roughly as good if that #1 is Embiid or Wiggins...both reportedly great defenders. parker trades offense for defense. But with the need to fill 3-4 roster spots and money to spend you can sign players that are good at D.

The jazz would be foolish to decline this trade, i wonder what type of contract would come back from Cleveland...

Jarrett Jack?

You are a sick man.

I want no part of the lottery next year unless it's a pick from another team. heh

I don't either. This draft was special. I don't want to blow up our young core on a gamble. We had unique assets and situations to assemble the core we have. It is hard to imagine us getting into this same great position without the decades of pain that other teams with multiple lotto picks have gone through.

I'd do # 5 and any one of our young core for the no. 1 pick. That's where I draw the line.

What if we did trade 5 and a core player for the no. 1 pick, and then traded #23, #35, one of our many 2nd rounders, and some kind of salary absorption w/ SAC for the 8th pick (like has already been proposed on here)? Who are your selections?

Ok. I've got vertigo now....

I'll be back later.

Pau, is that you Pau? Can we pick you up for cheap in the FA market?

Also, if we had 1 and 8..... geez, would almost have to go Embiid for a rim protector and BPA left at 8. Who would be left that is worth drafting, most likely not a star, a possible starter I would think. Too many names for me to pin down an 8.

Kanter and/or Favors and/or Hayward and/or Burke for Jabari Parker or Embiid ?
in a heartbeat.
our 5th. pick, too?
sure thing!

Even if the Jazz could pull this trade off I'm guessing they'd go for Jabari, even though Embiid is the better choice.

Embiid > 2013 Utah Jazz roster

I'd offer as much salary as they could swallow, then hit FA like an angry mother >> Embiid, Gasol, Deng, Bledsoe, Lowry, Isaiah...

NJ traded Favors, Kanter, Harris and the ability to trade for Burke for Deron.

Embiid will be a lot better than Deron.

Why do we overvalue our **** so much?

Favors and Hayward are all we have that have any sort of tangible value. We might luck out that we can't trade Hayward.

I'd do Favors, Kanter and Burks plus our #5 and even our #23 for #1.

Then build around Embiid and Hayward. Add Bledsoe or Lowry, Pau Gasol and Deng and damn. We are suddenly much better and Cleveland still sucks.
