kumpir is a word sometimes used in Albanian for potato. Maybe we took it from the Turks. Who knows :)

I doubt it. Not only it does not sound Turkish, I have also read in eksisozluk that it was from Albania originally. But the official site of the Turkish Language Institution states that it's been derived from Bulgarian. So I guess it's the other way around.

You reminded me of another Darwin award candidate.... true story reported from Lithuanian newspapers about few years ago. Dude about 50 year old was betting with his friends that he will eat Amanita phalloides ( Death cap ) mushroom and will be fine. Needles to say he cooked it ate it and was feeling fine for day or two. He was about to collect his bet when on the third day he started feeling not as well anymore but declined visiting doctor as he was in denial and really wanted to win that bet. His relatives called in ambulance on 4th day as he was vomiting profusely and turned quite icteric. EMS took him to hospital and diagnosed him with severe liver failure from mushroom poisoning where he died couple days later.

Close, they were in a couple bands together before Steely Dan was formed, but Chase was not part of Steely Dan.

Pretty cool though still. One of my favorite music videos is with Chase in it.
