Former Jazz man/current Hawk DeMarre Carroll gives high praise to Quin Snyder during exit interview

Q. How do you personally assess your growth as a player?

A. I think I did really well. This is like the first year – I have to give a shout out to coach Quin (Snyder) – this is the first year a coach really worked with me on my footwork, my shot, spent time with me. That’s a credit to coach Quin. That shows me that he cares about me as a person, cares about me career. I think I’m headed in the right direction. I feel like a rookie. I finally got to play and do what I do. There is a lot of room for growth for me. I’m just trying to get better.

Quin Snyder Emerges As Leading Candidate For Jazz

I'm not sure how I feel about him. I've heard/read a ton of rumors about the guy. He comes across good in interviews and has awesome hair. He's a smart cookie with a MBA. Missouri fans hated him and one fan dumped popcorn on his head during a game. Everyone deserves a second chance; however, shouldn't the dude who didn't have any problems be a priority.

I copied the text from the "Jazz Nation" Facebook account. My bad. I didn't proofread it.

If a mod can fix it.......

Does that mean all of our coaches weren't good and didn't help him?

Assistant coaches are assigned players to work with usually. I'm guessing Carroll got lumped in with more of the big men, probably with Sap, and didn't receive much coaching on 3pt shooting.

I know Jeff worked with the wings, like Burks and Hayward.

Just a quick note: I live here in Kansas City Missouri and can honestly say that if the Jazz were here they would react to Quin Snyder's hiring the same way jazz fans in Utah would react to Jim Boylen getting hired. Quin Snyder's tenure at Missouri was that bad.

Honestly, there's much better options than both Snyder or Boylen. Messina, Blatt, Hollins, Donovan, Hoiberg, Longabardi even Karl. All of those guys should be on the radar above and beyond Snyder and Boylen. They're fine as Assistant coaches, but the Jazz need a HEAD COACH and leader.

They have to get this hire right.

Yea getting to the Elite 8 must be so traumatizing.

Not that I'm clamoring for Boylen or Snyder, but since when are college and pro coaching success correlated with each other.

Good post and good list.

I hope the jazz get one of the "better option" guys you mentioned
