Nissan resorts to hiring ex-felon to endorse their products.

Wrong. Again. I buy American whenever I can. In fact I would prefer to buy American. But only when there's value. I don't just buy American because I'm some sort of jingoist hack. Because if I did then I would take away all the incentive for the company to get better if they put an inferior product on the market. You see, I value my pocketbook more than I do supporting a company that puts out garbage product.

Whatever ya gotta tell yourself, bigot.

Absolutely ****ing not. I would have turned him in personally. I love dogs, my parents dog, just as much as Ballou, if not more. But that does not mean that I believe individuals are static and not capable of change.

Furthermore, I either respect the rules of law and punishment or I don't. Again, he served his time, paid his court fees, paid his fines, so he paid his debt to society.

I do agree with you on this. If he has paid his debt, let it go..... we all make mistakes we want others to forget and forgive.

I don't have cows in my yard, or sleeping at the foot of my bed. I don't love cows outside of the delicious meat they produce.

I hate air pollution as well -- are you going to pull the, "but you still drive a car..." horse crap?

and if we weren't driving cars we'd all be cleaning up horse crap...

I'd rather drive a car

It's a nice ideology to strictly adhere to, but have you heard of the societies that spent all their gold in the name of quality, err something? (err something happens to be government subsidized and mercantile protected Japanese cars).

That is a fair comment. Treat them on a case by case basis. If you make dogs fight until they have ripped each other apart and then take them and beat them against the wall, drown, electrocute and other horrible stuff don't be shocked when people still think you are a douche bag even if you went to prison.

So he treated animals like they treat each other in the wild. Isn't there a more appropriate eye for an eye punishment like permanently banishing him to the African Sahara or something?

Speak for yourself *******. I want you to remember all my quote mistakes unquote.

Oh yeah, because domesticated dogs bred as pets are definitely born with skills and instincts necessary to defend themselves in the wild.

Thank you for finally making the point.

BTW, they are in many countries of the South American continent. And what's the point of producing a sorry organism that cannot survive on it's own? That sounds like a parasite that should be eradicated. An entire species surviving on the good graces of another? Seriously McSofty? You're goal in life is to protect parasites? Can I introduce you to a semi-domesticated 15th century favorite, the tapeworm?

If edit worked then I'd make a nice long post about protecting the interests of genetically modified tube worms. At the expense of reality, of course.

Isn't the obvious answer that dogs could survive on their own until humans kept them as pets/tools/whatever? And that the point of producing them is to be tools/pets/whatever?

What a piss poor argument, sir.

Nevermind the fact that there are dogs that survive on their own in the wild.. they're called wolves.

If you a guy who was selling marijuana and got nailed... I could probably get over that a little quicker.

A lot of folks here going wide of the mark one way or another.

ex-felons are still fundamentally human beings and should have the right to vote, and it should not be something they have to divulge on an employment app. I drive Nissans and have had some good experiences with the product, and will not look upon the PA dealership's ad with any disfavor. It is fundamentally wrong for the state to strip any human of their basic freedoms aside from appropriate penal actions. Let them go free when the incarceration time is done. We have gone too far in becoming a police state, and in building up huge populations held in incarceration for things that are not as seriously wrong as what the judges and lawyers do in perverting our constitution. Or as wrong as what our politicians do in dragging our soldiers off to unconstitutional foreign wars in service of our cartel interests. I don't like the drug culture, and I have been seriously damaged by druggies doing their thing, too. But look at the scale of it all.

We should imprison George Bush for supporting torture and perverting constitutional protections of human rights. What he did is more heinous than Vick's animal tortures. And for lying to us all about WMDs in order to pursue a family vendetta against other high-handed miscreants just like himself.

Then, the animal guy in me speaks out too. People like Vick who do this kind of abuse are latent abusers of humans too, I mean the normal humanity is just missing in people like Vick. The normal human reactions and instincts for caring and compassion, for gentleness and decency are just gone. I don't know what been accomplished in the treatment of his disorder, but I hope he has made contact with those human instincts, or developed and awareness of them and made a determination to apply those normal values.

Still, human being are not douchebags and those who use terms like that are lacking some of their own normal decency considerations.

Doe? I don't see you're point, sir. But I'm sure it's deep. Like layers and layers and layers deep.

Ok, let me rephrase.....All humans make mistakes we want others to forget and forgive.
I'm not sure deer want or need forgiveness.

Oh, and I will forget and forgive your namecalling so you dont have to worry about it. You're welcome.
I realize you want me to remember your mistakes, but I just remembered...... I don't care.

My memory's not so good... what were we talking about?

Who gives a ****? Honestly...if it takes a celebrity on TV to convince you to buy a specific brand or product, then you're a dumbass.

I guess I'm a dumbass. I've only been drinking Diet Pepsi for years because of this ad.
