What's new

Game Of Thrones

And we got to see our cliche "romantic scene in the midst of battle".

Going back a week, the beetle story seems to me to be much more about Tyrion Lannister than his cousin. He so failed to understand that people could take pleasure in dealing out death and destruction, that he felt the need to study it and assume there was a greater purpose.

Watched it last night.

It was awesome. What a great episode.
I liked the moment between john and igrette.
Loved the speach in the tunnel at the inner gate.
Dolorus edd running things up top

John snow wooping *** with his sword.
Even the scenes with sam and gilly were well done.
Sir alliser went out like a badass.

The giants stole the show though imo. They were badass.

Oh ya and tormond giantsbane and the leader of the thenns (magnar?) Were awesome!

Even got a little cameo from ghost.

Great episode!

Book readers...... did john leave castle black after one night of fighting to seek out mance in the books?

I dont remember that happening

The episode would have been a lot better if the actor who does Jon Snow wasn't bland as ****.

Just give me a full episode of Tyrion and I will be happy.

That didn't feel like 100 vs 100,000. I know in books you could get away with listing any number you want but in the show they shoulda said like 350 vs 6,0000 or something like that, still impossible odds but plausible having the wall advantage. Ruined the episode always having that in the back of my mind.

They only sent a small portion of the 100,000 for the 1st attack. I don't know why they do it that way, but they said there would be more the next night, and so on for a while. That is the reason Snow went out to kill the leader.

They wasted a bunch of men, two giants, and their southern flank. Really every wildling with any sort of character development died/got captured except their leader dude. If the purpose of the first attack was just scouting, isn't that what worgs are for? It was greatly done, the mammoths and giant looked great, amazing actually, that scene that was all one long shot of fighting was cool etc. I didn't love this episode same reason I didn't love the movie 300.

If Mance sent the secondaries on command, then either he captures in one attack, or he gets rid of the contenders for his position. But I doubt these guys are second in command. They made all the scouting before too. Only the Viking looking captured guy was near him which Snow mistaken to adress as Mance the first time. But he is small time, you can tell by the bear make love fireside story. A good politician like Mance should be able to make the best of his situation. So I expect him to run for the iron throne and marry Baelish.

Not that I recall, although I could be misremembering.

I had mixed feelings about the episode. It was cool, I guess, but I don't read the books or tune in to the show to see big battles. I tune in for the characters, the intrigue, the crazy reversals of fortune. Then again, I suppose one episode in forty so far spent this way provides some variety.

RIP Tywin. RIP Hound. RIP Jojen. RIP the undead. Maybe we will see a Stark reunion next episode. Great season finale.
