Official Player Workouts for the Utah Jazz

Starting SF for Uconn. Best TS% of SFs in this draft class. Very good shooter, decent size (6' 7", 6' 10" span), decent athleticism, smart player (which pairing that with his pure shooting ability accounts for his impressive TS%), competes defensively.

I will fully admit that I am no expert by any stretch on these prospects, but I know what attributes I like. And I really like intelligent shooters with NBA bodies and heart. You can never have too many of them. When a player like that happens to have won multiple championships at their level, that is a nice bonus too.

DraftExpress is an appropriate name for the site; It was quick research. If anyone would care to shed more light, I'm curious.

German national team player in last year's EuroBasket team. Destroyed Tony Parker's France to deal them their only loss in the tourney with clutch 3s.
Automatic from range, very high BBIQ, gives maximum effort on defense. Role player potential!

Wouldn't it be in our best interest to at least feign some interest, to gain leverage in possible trade talks?

For example if boston really liked smart and thought we might take him they might consider throwing us another pick to move up and get him, instead of knowing they can just wait for him to slide past us. Maybe I'm looking into it too much.

Yea you are looking at it too much. Ainge is going to do what he thinks is the best for the Celtics.

This. Except for the second guessing yourself part.

I don't think teams usually want to trade up just 1 spot.

I could see it happening if you drafted the player they want and force their hand. For example, I can totally see the Bucks draft Wiggins and then immediately trade him to Philly for the 3rd and 10th picks.

I could also see the Jazz draft Exum and then immediately trade him to Boston for the 6th and 17th picks. I could see the Celtics holding out to see if he falls and then be willing to make the deal if he doesn't. It's a dangerous game, but it all depends on how your board is set. Don't draft a guy unless you're willing to keep him.

Michael Scotto: Noah Vonleh, C.J. Fair, Markel Brown and Jamil Wilson will work out for the Utah Jazz tomorrow. #NBADraft

Aaron Falk: Noah Vonleh will work out for the Jazz tomorrow

Also...

Jody Genessy: The Utah Jazz have worked out 75 draft hopefuls — with eight more coming in Monday — and 27 free agents this offseason

Great to know that the Jazz are turning over every rock and looking at everything in the quest to get better.

Lindsey touched on this in an interview. Said the partnership with Idaho is one reason they're working out so many players: they have to stock the Stampede roster. Also, another factor is the depth of the draft. Dennis mentioned that there will be some good players who go undrafted. May even throw a little guaranteed $ to some to get them to sign with Utah. By that, I'm assuming he means as part of the number that a team can bring to camp, not necessarily on the final 15-man roster.

Just heard that the workout was suppose to be done around 11:30, but they were still going at 12:30. Maybe Jazz will leak that Vonleh was in incredible shape to keep playing that long in the altitude. Gotta have the magic draft him!

Or maybe, just maybe, the Jazz have been impressed with what they saw and the workout is going really well and the Jazz are quizzing him now.

DUN DUN DUN!!!

Or both obviously.

Utah Jazz just tweeted that Vonleh seems to have a lot of knowledge about the jazz, organization, and history.

He's been watching Favors since high school, it would be cool to get a guy that Favors can be best friends with and maybe that will help him get out of his shell.
