I feel flattered.
Have to confess after seeing both group G games last night, I've already started to make scenarios about the most likely opponents in our way to the finals. Semi Finals will be stacked in our side of the bracket.
(Honestly don't think either Ghana or USA are ain shape to beat us - no offense !)

But my power rankings would be:

1) Netherlands
2) Argentina
3) Brazil
4) Germany
5) France
6) Italy
7) Spain
8) Columbia
9) Belgium
10) USA - as an act of diplomacy

The U.S. being ranked here ahead of England, Portugal, Switzerland, Columbia is simply silly. The former two lost to good teams, that's all.

as an act of diplomacy. Don't know how you could have missed that

Also I ranked Columbia at 8. Portugal is out with Pepe and Coentrao missing games. And even if they advance no chance of winning. England would have been my other #10. But as I am on an Murican board here I said as an act of diplomacy....

Please accept my apologies.

usa have a legit chance vs portugal too.

pepe has gone mental and headbutted somebody and they looked totally **** vs germany

Just want to state how happy i am that the World Cup is taking place in a timezone that makes games watchable at regular hours of the day in the States.
yup

Soccer goal size is 8 ft by 8 yards. Even if you put 11 players goalie included on the line there is plenty of gap over their heads. If all they do is standing on the line other team will be shooting non stop aiming high just under the bar and will eventually score hundred of goals in 90 min. I would pay to see that as it would be the most stupidest thing attempted in soccer history.

This may come as good example what would happen. See how much space is over the players head.

are the defenders allowed to jump or do they have to remain on the ground?

They can jump. Not sure you want to try to block those type of shots with your face though....

It was an exciting match even though no goals were scored. Ochoa was super awesome.

Is soccer typically a one game a week sport?

It's usually 2 for the teams in international competitions. And in the week when international play stops, you usually have so-called "English weeks" in national competitions.

I think the Spanish league sometimes even schedules 3 games.
