Rumor: Jazz willing to trade Burks to move up into top-3

Off topic but did you see the rumors out of OKC after they got knocked no out of the playoffs? Sign CJ miles was at the top of their offseason plans.

i'm not surprised, he's a solid role player, drafted 34th overall he's doing just fine

it'll be fun if he will win something with okc

He shows up every 5 games. So maybe they get a good game #2 and game #7 out of him. Durant and Westbrook will have to carry the team in games #1 and #5.

Hate to say it but if we do find a trade partner for Parker, they are going to ask for either Favors or Burks, not Kanter. They will also want next years 1st, not the GS 23. Do we love Parker that much?

Favors, the #5 and next year's lottery pick?
Anyone who thinks Parker is going to be that good is just a delusional Mormon.

This is the kind of package you put together for a CONFIRMED star - i.e. reference the deals for Deron and Carmelo. Parker is FAR, FAR from a confirmed all-star.

I'm starting to soften on the trading up angle.

NO! Bad NUMBERICA! BAD!

While I still definitely would love to draft Embiid, Wiggins, or Parker, Embiid might be a busted player waiting to happen or never develop relative to his stock, Wiggins might not have any real fire, and Parker might just be that physically limited and/or a chucker that doesn't play efficient and smart basketball. Conversely, what if Vonleh is Chris Bosh-ish? What if Marcus Smart is awesome? What if Dante Exum's skills translate to the NBA?

As much as we feel we know something about these players, the honest-to-goodness truth is we don't know how they're going to fare. We ****ing don't.

I don't know what to think right now. If a top-3 team is going to fleece the Jazz for the chance to draft a couple of spots higher? I don't know.

One of the best posts I've read on this site in months.

People keep saying we should definitely trade Burks and 5 for the opportunity to draft a star in Parker. Well, Burks was pretty damn good at 22 and might still become a star (at worst he is a very good SG as it currently stands - a proven commodity). The #5, whoever it is might become a star. Parker might be a bust. You might be trading two stars for a bust. You might be trading two stars for one star. Most likely you are trading two really good young players for somebody who will most likely become a really good young player (if you play the percentages, the chances Parker doesn't become a star FAR outweigh the chances he becomes one)

I'm not in any way down with this. I don't see Parker as a superstar. Just don't see it. I also love Burks, and think due to him only starting to get mins last year has only scratched the surface of how good he can be. Not a big fan of Parker I'm worried about him being overwhelmed in the nba.
