Following potential 2014 draftees

You are flat out wrong, Noah grades out very high in this particular area, even against top 10 PF's in previous drafts. His perceived value would not be where its ascended to if his ball handling was in question.

for a 250lb. PF that move is quite impressive.

In terms of pure Ball-handling ability, Vonleh has Favors and Kanter beat in a landslide.

I don't think the dribble drive will be a major part of his game in the pros. His handle looks nice, but it looks better than it is actually effective, imo.

I actually didn't like that he called out WOJO directly. The guy is the best in the business and Randle should have taken more of the high road, imo.

I don't know. I thought he was pretty respectful for the most part. And it sounds like he knew what the hell he was talking about. Yes, WOJO is great, but if the shoe fits...

And the fact remains he isn't a great finisher around the rim. Slow jumper.

Well, well... look-a-here...

Tribune: I know DeMarre Carroll [a former Jazz forward who was with Snyder last year in Atlanta] really praised your efforts with him this season.

Snyder: He’s a lot of fun. We spent a lot of time together. He probably got sick of me. I definitely got sick of him. No, that relationship, to your point, that’s what I enjoy about it. He felt like his game had an opportunity to improve. Truthfully, at the beginning of the year, I didn’t think he was a great finisher around the rim and he did some things to be able to improve that. He’s got a little floater game, kind of like a guard would have. He’s interesting because he picks stuff up so quickly. There are some guys you show them something and it’s like, ‘OK. I got it.’ And he’s hungry to learn. He sent me a video clip the other day of him working on his ball handling.

I think Snyder would look at Randle and rubs his hands with glee....

Something is a brewing in Sacramento?

The Kings who own the eighth pick, and only the eighth pick are working out Rodney Hood and Zac Lavine tomorrow.

They want to clear cap space. Want a real pf. Need a pg. want to bring Gay back. And think they are in a win now mode.

Denis Lindzzey should be able to exploit them. Go Dennis.

Can't blame them. They have been drafting high in the lottery but not much to show for it outside of Cousins.

McLemore - not looking to promising
Robinson - on like his 20th team already
Fredette - at least got them some ticket sales
Evans - fools gold
Thompson - meh

Burke, #23, and Kanter, for Cousins and their #8. We package #5 and #8 for #2.

PG in FA.

(I guess I should say, first, that I wouldn't do this.) ;)

This.

In the very little bit they went at each other in the U19 game, Smart looked like an adult going against a jr high kid. Watching that gave me pause.

You can't just look at one game. Exum played 11 minutes in that game. Ostertag outplayed Duncan in one game. There are countless NCAA players who outplay NBA prospects and then disappear from the basketball spotlight.

I have no idea if Exum is good but with any player you have to watch a lot of games and then try to predict their potential. It is a difficult thing to do and for that reason there are a lot of misses in doing so.

This only makes me wish that the Jazz kept Carroll even more. I never understood why he didn't get more run with the Jazz because he usually produced and always played hard...Oh yea Corbin..

I like Randle a lot. He definitely has some weakness just like other players but I don't care who says there isn't anything wrong with his foot. If you have a screw in your foot then that is enough for me not to draft you.

Many guys who have foot issues rarely get through their career without it being an issue. I'd rather draft Gordon or Vonleh.

The last guy we had with a screw in his foot was Curtis Borchardt. Not sure how serious Randle's situation is though.

IIRC, Borchardt had chronic foot injuries. If it's a stand-alone acute injury that requires a screw, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I played 10 years of middle school/high school/AAU basketball with a screw in my right foot (5th metatarsal - "jones fracture") and my right hand (scaphoid fracture) and was 100% fine. No chronic issues.

The concern with Randle sounds like his fracture healed wrong. If that's legitimately the case, and it's impeding his play, he may have to have it re-broken and re-set, which would be a lengthy recovery time (4-6 months). But, again, not likely a chronic thing.

(I am no doctor, of course, just spent a lot of time around athletics and common injuries. The above is solely based off of what I've read regarding his foot).

I'd take McLemore

I'll go on record to say I'll be really, really surprised if the Jazz actually draft Aaron Gordon. I just don't see the coordination or the offensive skills, either on the perimeter or in the post, to justify even considering him along with Randle, Vonleh and Exum. I think the buzz he's getting in Boston and Utah (if any, for that matter) is a smokescreen. He may not even go top 8, depending on what Sacramento does.

.

Sacramento's worst nightmare is to be sitting at 8 and Smart, Exum, Randle & Vonleh are off the board. As Jazz4ever pointed out they have had a long line of failed draft projects, it would be really hard for them to take another project with a risk of failure. Maybe that is why they are working out prospects like hood, Lavine, and Payton. Trading back isn't a bad thing for them.

Last years draft was wild with trades, I think it will be more so this year. Buckle up!
