More Chad Ford Speculation: #5 and Favors for #2 and Sanders

I would do it. If Sanders can get clean he could be a great complement to Kanter.

Hang on, folks. He's not representing this as an actual rumour, he was asked, "What would it take?" He answered.

In today's (6-18) Chad Ford chat...

Derek (Salt Lake)
How much do you think the Jazz would be willing to give up for the 2nd spot to likely land Parker?

Chad Ford (1:18 PM)
I think it would cost them, at a minimum, Derrick Favors and the No. 5 pick. And they'd have to take back Larry Sanders. The Sanders contract isn't a bad one if you think this year's issues off the court have been resolved. He's a great shot blocker and rebounder. But that's a pretty high cost to move up.

Ryan (Utah)
Any truth to the rumor that the Jazz have zeroed in on Jabari?

Chad Ford (1:19 PM)
I know what Jazz fans want. They want Jabari. But I actually think Embiid and Wiggins may be higher on their boards. If they move up, don't assume it's for Parker. And please Jazz fans, don't burn down Dennis Lindsay's home if he passed on him. You'll love Wiggins too.

I pretty much love this post.

Parker could very well end up being the best player of this draft, but I just don't rate him as the best prospect. I like Wiggins (and Embiid).

Dude, you wear skinny jorts, and therefore, your opinion doesn't count. You and Dalamon should get together and exchange equally inaccurate and lame opinions; I bet you both would climax.

Not a fan Larry Sanders the person. I'd rather have Gordon/Favors but I would look into taking someone else from the Bucks to get Wiggins.

No idea about Ford and this rumor, but the Milwaukee pick just has to be the most available. The other three teams ahead of us appear to be on the rise. If the Bucks keep their pick, their team will suck this year anyway. They'll be right back in next year's lottery and still have all those terrible contracts (Mayo, Sanders, Pachulia, etc) on the books. They should use this year's pick to dump all those deals and next year's picks to get better players.

I really like Favors a lot. I think Larry Sanders is highly overrated.
I don't like this trade unless we get something else out of it. But if we do end up trading Favors and the 5th pick for Sanders and the 2nd pick. I won't be totally upset. We still will be a good team. I just think Favors has better positional defense. I think Sanders takes too many chances.
I really like Wiggins and Parker but I think Favors could end up being an all-star.
I have ripped on this trade the last day or so. but the more I think about it the more I would be OK with it. But not overly excited as I think Favors is a great anchor down low.
If we do this trade I think Wiggins or Parker will be great pieces and will be a decent trade. I just think Favors will end up making us regret the trade.

My offer would be their pick for the #5, #23 and #35 and a bad contract. Part 2 of that deal would need to be consummated after July 1st. So just a verbal agreement to trade Mayo for the rights to the player they want us to select for them at #35. Salary relief is a valuable asset to give. No need to include Favors.

What if we did:

UT Out: #5, Favors, Trey

UT In: #2, #8, Landry, Mayo

Mil In: Favors, #2, Terry

Mil Out: Sanders, Mayo, #5

Sac In: Sanders, Burke

Sac Out: Landry, Terry, #8

Don't want Sanders in Utah and Sacramento has been rumored to like him... plus Cousins and Sanders would be good times... no one should get in the way of it.

Utah selects Wiggins and however is left between Gordon, Vonleh, Saric (I think he is way underrated). It is a bit of a tear down and start over, but I'm not sure what we are currently building towards... feels like we have a low-ceiling as currently constructed.
