What's new

Embiid has a new foot injury

Trade Favors and Burks for #1 - draft Jabari or Wiggins

Draft Embiid at 5

You would have to do more to get the #1 pick without including #5, but if you get Jabari/Wiggins and Embiid in the same draft, gut the whole ****ing team.

His production is kind of irrelevant. He got healthy. Being healthy doesn't automatically make you a hall of famer.
Got healthy, then missed the most of the next season and part of the next with an ankle injury. Got healthy again and was that 13/10 player. Question is, did his back and ankle problems impact his career even when "healthy?" YOu can certainly look at a guy liek Deron Williams and say that even though he's played in most of Brooklyn's games the past two years, his effectiveness has certainly been limited by his chronic wrist and ankle problems. Not saying this will be the case with Embiid, but he's now had back problems two years running and broke his foot doing drills. Those are definite red flags.

You'd rather go with Aaron ****ing Gordon? Yeah, Shawn Marion (if he's ****ing lucky) turned around a lot of franchises when he wasn't the beneficiary of playing with all-universe offensive players.

I'd rather go with a guy who has a history of being a role player than a big with a long history of back and foot injuries.

I wanted Parker over Lopez.
I wanted cp3 over Duron.
I wanted Ibaka over boom bitches.
George over hayward.
Kanter over Knight.
Kawhi over Burks.

But that's okay. I don't know anything about the draft, right?

All the playing and coaching I've done certainly doesn't qualify me to know anything about basketball, right?

This is a great scenario for the Jazz. You take Embiid at #5 and don't have to give up any of your assets to get the #1 player in the draft and yes of course you cross your fingers. The bigger issue is that you now have all of your assets to move back up.

I say take on $16.8 Million of Sacramento's expiring contracts as well as #23 to pick up their #8. With #8 you take: My choice would be Stauskis I think he will be special and shooting is at a premium. Or you could take Aaron Gordon, Juilius Randle or Doug McDermott.

Then your worst cast scenario is that you downgrade from Vonleh to Stauskis/Randle/Gordon if you think they are a downgrade from the player you thought you might have ended up with if you had otherwise not taken Embiid slipping at #5.

Make it happen.

You don't know that

Umm they actually did. He averaged 25 Pts and like 12 Reb in college. He was a sick scorer. Portland knew that but their GM was worried about the Lakers and Bynum and had Brandon Roy (yep they did it again). Portland blew it.

Thanks.

Numb has been running his *** far too long. It's about time someone shut him up.

You don't know that

I sure do. Unless there's a freshman 6' 11" with a 7' 5" reach perimeter player that put up < 26 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks on 50(2)/40(3)/80(FT) in a major conference and almost won a national title with the team on his back that I don't know about.

You apparently think there could be a Kevin Durant in this draft at 5, so whatever that means.

You draft guys who has the chances to change the whole franchise. With the 5th pick Embiid is a no brainer. With the 1st pick it is hard to decide but if he is available at 5 you take him. You also can`t blame Portland to draft Oden. He was a freak and everyone was fascinated by him so you gamble on him. It was the right decision but it didn`t turn well.

Not that mock drafts are accurate but it's going to be interesting to see how they change now due to this news.

It's probably going to go:

Cleveland: Wiggins
Milwaukee: Parker

But now we have Philly and Orlando. Do either take Embiid? Or do they say heck, no? Maybe one chooses Vonleh over Embiid due to the fact Vonleh is healthy? And Exum was slated to go top-4 in a lot of mocks so that can still happen so there is a chance Embiid is available at 5.

If he's there at 5 it's a tough call. I can totally see why one would say DON'T DO IT!

I think a lot depends on the extent of his foot injury. A lot of things will be seen and new opportunities may open up if Embiid drops to us. I think there would be teams who would try to switch picks with us to take him if DL isn't sold on him.

Portland decided that because they had a SG that was missing CRUCIATE LIGAMENTS, they couldn't draft a SF? Then went ahead and drafted a big with an actual long injury history, and again, A LEG THAT WAS LONGER THAN THE OTHER.

Like I said before, their **** up is simply their **** up. There isn't a Michael Jordan or Kevin Durant prospect to pass at #5 this year. There simply isn't.

After you rep and like a bunch of my posts? Did you dose your meds wrong or something?

Define a bunch. And define when.

And no, I don't remember concerns over kanter's knees. I remember concerns over his athleticism and defense doe. Both of which have proven to be significant obstacles.

BTW, if it must be clarified, if I'm the Cavs, you bet your *** I pass on Embiid because of this. But we aren't in their position.

K guys. I think we should all just drop all debate cuz numb says so.

Yep. Let's take Embiid. We will for sure win a championship once Borchart misses next season and the season after with broken feet and a ruined back.

You proclaim to be #1 draft expert and you don't know that Enes Kanter played the Nike Hoops Summit on an ailed knee and that there were rumors that he struggled with knee injuries earlier than that?

Well that conversation happened a lot. And his knees are fine.
