Embiid has a new foot injury

K guys. I think we should all just drop all debate cuz numb says so.

Yep. Let's take Embiid. We will for sure win a championship once Borchart misses next season and the season after with broken feet and a ruined back.

Why are you so offended that I strongly disagree with you? RUINED BACK? Calm down, step off the ledge.

Dennis Lindsey has that San Antonio mojo with him, right? Right? I mean he has to get this right. He can whiff on everything else, but hiring Quin Snyder and what he does in this draft are the two things he cannot miss on.

Not that mock drafts are accurate but it's going to be interesting to see how they change now due to this news.

It's probably going to go:

Cleveland: Wiggins
Milwaukee: Parker

But now we have Philly and Orlando. Do either take Embiid? Or do they say heck, no? Maybe one chooses Vonleh over Embiid due to the fact Vonleh is healthy? And Exum was slated to go top-4 in a lot of mocks so that can still happen so there is a chance Embiid is available at 5.

If he's there at 5 it's a tough call. I can totally see why one would say DON'T DO IT!

I think a lot depends on the extent of his foot injury. A lot of things will be seen and new opportunities may open up if Embiid drops to us. I think there would be teams who would try to switch picks with us to take him if DL isn't sold on him.

But I could easily see Orlando taking Smart, if Exum moves up, or Vonleh.

Portland decided that because they had a SG that was missing CRUCIATE LIGAMENTS, they couldn't draft a SF? Then went ahead and drafted a big with an actual long injury history, and again, A LEG THAT WAS LONGER THAN THE OTHER.

Like I said before, their **** up is simply their **** up. There isn't a Michael Jordan or Kevin Durant prospect to pass at #5 this year. There simply isn't.

Oh I'm with you on this. They blew it. I just remember hearing the old GM told someone what I described.

If this just shuffles the order of Wiggins/Parker/Embiid/Exum in the top-4, I am going to be very bummed.

But the Sixers worked out Vonleh (who is a lock to be gone before #1). So maybe he's your new piece to trade up with...?

If we had the 3rd pick right now we'd all be freaking out.

Thank Ronda for Trey Burke! That's why you don't tank :D
From almost assuredly getting Jabari to having to take an injured Embiid. All over Utah, building owners would be locking windows to prevent people from jumping out of them.

I think the Jazz may have had contingency deals ('if this and this transpire, then we'll do this' [a la the Burke trade]) in place with Milwaukee and/or Philly. I think this news might just have ruined a lot of hard work.

But of course I'm speculating.

Not sure if this was mentioned:

"Adrian Wojnarowski ✔ @WojYahooNBA
Cleveland doctors discovered right foot injury in exams and passed info onto Embiid reps, sources tell Yahoo. Fear is a right foot fracture."

"Cavs doctors conducted Joel Embiid physical, Bucks doctors conducted Jabari Parker's -- and two teams exchanged them, sources tell Yahoo."

If they discovered it in Exams, then his foot isn't mangled. It's probably a stress fracture or akin to it. Which isn't a small deal for a giant.

If true, any chance of Exum falling to us is gone and I would skip right over him at 5 as well. Vonleh also likely out of the picture. We would have to take Gordon or Smart.

So if we have the choice between an athletic SF who can't shoot, and has no post moves AND the guy who is the best center prospect since Shaq, but could have injury problems...and people wanna take Gordon?! Holy ****.

Noel is no Embiid, but ****, I think he falls into the 6-8 range like he did last year. Too many good prospects to take a chance on him now.

Dont know- so many centers have been derailed over similar injuries. I guess I am a puss.

This cracks me up.

@DJJazzyJody: In other news, the Portland Trail Blazers are frantically trying to get back into the draft.

no, I don't remember concerns over kanter's knees.

Holy hell dude!

Have you seriously not heard of Kanter's knee problems in Europe? Read up on them!

One of the major problems with this board is that people who have no idea what the hell they're talking about have some of the strongest opinions.

Read up on his knee problems in Europe. Then come talk to me

---------------------

You are an expert on the 2011 draft, no? Remember you wanted Kanter over Knight and Kawhi over Burks? You don't even need to be an expert, just a simple Google search would suffice. Maybe some respectful dialogue to replace the braggadocio and patronizing superiority.

---------------------------

“Weaknesses: One of the big concerns scouts have with Kanter is his physical health. He has had a history of knee problems and there are concerns about his knees not checking out 100% when he has NBA physicals …”

Forgive me if this has been mentioned, but it's at least possible that this helps us move up for Jabari, even though right away it would seem like it could do nothing but hurt.

Lets say Milwaukees Big Board was...

1) Embiid
2) Wuggins
3) Somebody not named Jabari Parker

Then the Embiid injury could make them more open to trading down to #5. Obvi not the case if they like Jabari.

That's not true. Tim Duncan has always been a highly-skilled and versatile C. So let's just say that Embiid is the best C since either Tim Duncan or Shaq (depending on how you view Duncan positionally), 9 championships between them later.
