Hahaha this gai..
Right, I don't disagree with that. And I said I would probably do it for Wiggins.Ya, and the 5th pick isn't likely to be a franchise player either.
Haven't you noticed yet? Favors isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. He is good at rim protection. Big woop. Just turn Gobert into that. Besides, it's not the most important thing to have. Having the best player is the most important thing to have. That's the name of the game. It not trying to collect a bunch of good pieces who are nice guys and who fit the team, and blah blah. Example: If I had either Durant or Lebron, there is no combination of players that you could offer me in a trade. Why? Because that's the smartest thing to do. You stuff as much talent as you can into one player. And let's not try to use the Spurs as an example. The Spurs are great because of one player too. It's Tim Duncan. None of those championships are won without him. Ya, he is old and has help, but it still isn't done without him.
Do we know that Wiggins or Parker will be the next transcendent star? No, not for sure. But we can't keep adding average or even above average players. We need a stud. So you roll the dice. You can't win a championship unless you go after one of these guys. This is the only chance we will have to do this. If they turn out to be stars then we are going to be able to trade for them then, and it will be too late. Then we will be right back in the same situation as before.
It's a great move for Cavs.
They get a starting center in Favors and can still gamble on Embiid.
Jazz get Parker or Wiggins and still have a starting center in Kanter.
That is the great thing about this franchise. They are great at deflecting their real intentions.I'd be stunned if we moved up to #1 and took Wiggins over Parker. The whole world knows (or thinks they know) that we're gushing over Jabari.
Though I'd be stunned if we traded Favors, too, so I clearly know nothing.

I've wanted Parker, but if we move Favors we better take wiggins. Holly **** would we be bad with Parker and Burke on the wings and kanter down low.

.
But if they make this trade and end up with Parker, I for one will be frustrated. You don't trade your only defensive piece for a chance to move up and draft another one dimensional player. Who has a great chance of making the worst defense in the league worse. All while being an inefficient offensive one dimensional player to boot. I've never been sold on Parker as a franchise player.

Not really. If Embiid gets picked there are other bigs available later. Randle, Vonleh and Gordon could all be there if Embiid isn't. Part of the reason they might want to do this is because they are leary of Embiid's injury and want a big. This deal would almost have to be approved and orchestrated by Bucks, Sixers, Magic.
They would have to agree to let Embiid slide to Cavs.
Jazz and them would have sort out who each team wants before the draft.

If this does go down is there a free agent available to replace Favors with? I like Gobert but I don't think he's close to being ready for that much responsibility.
