I don't disagree but it's the Kings and dumb teams often make dumb decisions and if they really do wanna shop #8 to get rid of dead weight and can send 18M of such to us and still get a semi-promising big and a 1st in the process, the Kings FO may jump for joy.

In essence, the Cavs get the guy they really want in Embiid but Vonleh (or Gordon or Randle) as well who he'd fit well with imo and who could act as insurance in case Embiid is plagued with these injuries. To nab those two guys and the GS pick and dump Jack is just too much to turn down if I'm the Cavs.

The Kings get Kanter (who Cousins had raved about), a projected high 1st from us, and dump about 18M in salary which was their goal in trading the 8th pick. Heck, to get Kanter and a 2015 1st back may feel great to them in the process.

The Jazz get Wiggins without giving up Favors or Burks and keep their future 1sts protected. We additionally get the vet leadership we could use.


Which of those teams doesn't do that deal?

It's interesting. I'd do it as a Jazz fan. Move 2 first and Kanter for the #1 pick instead of Favors, and Burks(or a future 1st)
 
well this makes no sense. jazz will regret this if it happens.. Burks will make us sick for years on another team guaranteed. He and Kanter will be the stones that the builder refused..

This trade idea was a fun waste of time, but I never believed the rumor was genuine for a second. First off, look at the source it came from. Utah never leaks trades, especially to someone as far away from the org as the Deseret News.

My gut feeling is that KOCDL knew they couldn't get Wiggins no matter what, made the offer in a very loud fashion, while quietly have their eyes on a guy with just as much potential as Wiggins (Gordon). Smoke in mirrors to downplay Gordon at five so someone higher isn't as tempted to nab him.

The trade makes no damn sense for Cleveland anyway. They need a ready now player, and well, there happens to be one in the top-2 conversation.
