I thought he was injured ???

Turkish NT name extended World Cup roster: NBAers Omer Asik and Enes Kanter both in. Semih Erden not invited.

I think he needs to play some ball... I hope we can watch him contribute at Nationalteam... Experience is something he needs most.

What about you ???

I think it would be good if he played. Seems his knee injection may not sideline him for this afterall. If he does play that should ensure that he is 100% ready for the season.

Done one for teh other mod Moe for her 6000th or smth now you.

However it's a total coincidence that both you are mods.

Seriously!

Can anyone in SLC confirm he is fasting?
FYI fasting is a painful Muslim ritual. You eat or drink strictly nothing all day in the month of Ramadan.
This is a big problem for Muslim athletes. Usually it takes about 4-5 weeks to fully recover.

i doubt all muslim athletes do it, unless they are overreligious. Plus it is not so hard, our body can adapt to physical differences. And it is not like you dont eat or drink 24 hours, just from sunrise to sunset you close your mouth, and zip your pants. But of course it is not recommended for athletes.

Hakeem Olajuwon fasted. If you compared the stats of the months he fasted to when he didn't fast he had just as good if not better stats. Herschel walker fasted for non religious reasons granted he drunk liquids though. It didn't stop him either. Gatorade marketing has done a really good job at overemphasizing staying hydrated.

Check out this video for example. Peyton mannings gives one piece of advice to Christian Ponder (at least that made the cut). It isn't to practice, it isn't a special technique, it is to stay hydrated.

Can you give me the stats to a single Muslim athlete who fasted that had worst performance/stats compared to when not fasting or do you always love to make claims without evidence?

He tweeted a week or so ago that he was gonna miss this due to his surgery. Now, he's fine. Which is it?

The kid likes to be a sideshow of sorts and it's sad.

I don't see a tweet from him stating this. I see tweets from other media members reporting on information from sources in Europe. Mr. Kanter did tweet that his surgery was a success on the 25th. Since this is a medical situation, maybe the prognosis changed. I mean, these things aren't static. The games themselves are almost 2 months away and what I've read is that Mr. Kanter would only be sidelined for 2 weeks.

I was watching CNNTurk and they listed the roster of the NT which included a certain Mr. Kanter of Utah Jazz.
I was suprised and did think he was not to be invited.

Wow Ergin Ataman is the coach now? He is a great guy, should have great relations with Enes.
By the way Ataman also coached Deron Williams with great success. Deron once scored 50 points for him :)

Source please. Thank you.

You know in Muslim-dominated countries they don't make and publish such scientific stuff but I remember many examples of this. Lastly Mousa Sow, a key soccer player for the top Turkish team Fenerbahce decided to fast for one month last year then he found himself on the bench for several weeks, slowly got up to the pace of his teammates. He was 100% only two months later or something.

Just popped a search query into the googles to see if there was any sort of recent information.

Found this:

Interesting stuff.

Yeah, I think I misremembered or misread the info on Kanter.

It would be great to watch Enes and Dante and Rudy in this world cup.

Patrick Mills is gone for 6 months. Is it official that Dante's invited to play in world championship?

Players like Hedo, Memo, Semih, Ersan don't fast but I'm almost sure Enes does. Look at his tweets guys. All Islam everything. From Playboy models to a devoted Muslim Enes Kanter...
