Renting a car.

So we usually do a few road trips a year and I always drive my car. But over the summer my Jeeps timing belt had to be replaced and my AC went out and had to be fixed in San Diego on our trip, which sent me back a few hundred bucks. So now we are going to Vegas over New Years....and I thought to myself....maybe I should rent a car.

So here is some tidbits I have found for you roadtrippers.

Using my own car

-putting miles on my car
-wearing out the tires
-usually get an oil change right before----about 35 bucks
-my car always is trashed and dirty from the road trip
-crappy gas mileage

Renting a car
-10 bucks a day and unlimited miles!, for my 4 day Vegas trip the total was $56
-better gas mileage
-no dirting my car and putting miles on it
-dont have to worry about car issues or repairs

So I am actually saving money by renting a car. Between the oil change and gas savings I will come out on top. Not to mention no wear and tear on my own vehicle.

So just a thought for some of you that do road trips alot. It might be a good idea. I think I will always do this from now on.

For like 3 bucks a month you can add rental car to your auto insurance policy. Just saying.

You can add rental car. Essentially, the insurance company gives you X amount of dollars per day to spend on a rental car. Cheap and easy.

You have yet to answer my question in the PIMP thread. You have to work a little bit harder in order to get my business.

You should be changing your oil at regular intervals anyway, regardless of whether or not you're road tripping.

How does that work if my car is working fine and all I want the rental car for is to take a raod trip?

Yeah it saves money but I always feel safer in an SUV. Plus if it snows you're covered. I have snow tires on mine so I'm driving like the ****ing boss.

I try to avoid your type when it snows. It's always the dudes in the big trucks causing havoc in snowstorms, at least in my experience.

Get snow tires or GTF out of my way. Passing lane is wide open on the highway in a snow storm and I'm captain of that ship. All these ******* who step on the gas when it's clear ain't **** compared to me in the white stuff. I just spent $520 on snow tires for my new whip, I want to get my money worth.

Who can stop Snowfeld?????????????
