Did Hayward's LEADERSHIP blow anybody away last year?

Treys idea of leadership is loud mouthing what a great leader he is. Seriously not impressed with that aspect. Put up done all star numbers and earn respect, then start talking. This is the NBA, not Michigan.

Hayward's idea is to set the example, a la Tim Duncan. Too bad he can't deliver reliably.

Unfortunately neither were leaders.

I do have high hopes for Exum based on his demeanor. If he's truly got game, I can see him being a leader.

It was a stealth tank year from the get go, not sure how much anyone could be motivated to lead when the front office goal was obviously to lose.

Is that what he was doing when he was sulking his way through shooting slumps?

No, but this thread did.

Thank you for pointing out reason #20 why we cant over pay Hayward.

Really good complimentary player. He'd look great with Wiggins or with another star.

Remember, the whole goal last year was to lose games. Kanter knew it and was on cruise control. (So was Favors.) Even so, he finished the year averaging 18/14/2blk in his last 5 starts. He didn't agree with what Corbin was doing, and he was probably right. People bag on him, but he's probably our best player overall. He plays with more passion than most of the other guys, and the fact that he was outspoken shows some leadership, imo.

The issue here is that Favors and Kanter haven't fit very well playing together, and Favors is the anchor of the defense. So Kanter's minutes were hurt as a result.

We had no leaders last year.

People rave about Burke. But his leadership reminds me of Raja Bell's: Do as I say not as I do.

Exum, Hood, and Gobert provide intriguing prospects for leadership. Exum is the most personable prospect we've had in years. Hood seems well educated and potentially able to back it up with his offense. And Gobert seems like a hard ***. He is the anti-Fess/Kanter. Gobert screams all business to me. He's intense and doesn't goof off out there on the floor.

Going forward, I think Exum has to become the leader. Obviously he's young and needs to develop, but he's probably the most talented, prototypical and cerebral player we have.

I'm so pumped to see what these guys can do with another offseason and an actual coach.
