vonleh just had the game of his life. 0 - 13 from field. 0-2 from 3. 0-2 from free throw. 5 fouls 3 turnover. It is just 1 game, but I am sooo glad we didn't get him

Wow! Can you imagine if Exum had gone #4 and we had taken Vonleh over Gordon?
This board would light after a game like that.

But let's not get too smug; that could be pretty close to Exum's line for his first game.

Looking at his game log, 11 of his 13 shots were jump shots, and the other two were layup attempts and both blocked. Yikes.
That said, its not going to be until year three you know what you have in Vonleh (or Gordon).

I love this decision. Turn over some rocks, but when you know exactly what you want to see, you cut the excess. Makes me think that we'll truly get to see what each of our young guys bring to the table by the end of this season. Snyder is focused on evaluating and developing these guys. He's not screwing around with players that don't fit into their plan.

Yep. That used to frustrate me. Half of each game would be spent giving "exposure" to a bunch of guys who had ZERO chance of making the roster. This is a much more manageable system, IMO. Look at 16-18 guys during summer league "training camp" then reduce to an NBA active roster size for the games.

If the Jazz keep everyone who has a contract for 2014-15, including the non-guaranteed ones, the roster is already at 14 players:

Burke, Exum, Lucas
Burks, Clark
Hayward, Hood, Thomas
Favors, Gobert
Kanter, Novak, Evans, Murphy

I could really see that happening too, maybe murphy being cut if we pick up some more players.
