What's new

Don't Ask, Don't Tell is officially history!!

So, you take mythical elements and equate them to a whole idea. I could assign to all conservatives the appalling state of veteran's benefits in this country, or the desire to attack Iran, or any other of a number of things. I supposed I lack the fundamental simple-mindedness to characterize people that way.

Yes yes, how could anyone believe in mythical hippie spit and vile accusations. They were all about peace and love.

Saying homosexuals aren't weak minded is a blanket generalization too...just saying.

Only for a person who has difficulty with basic grammar. Saying "homosexuals aren't weak minded" is the denial of a generalization. The generalization you have confused this with would be "No homosexual is weak-minded".

Homosexuals are human beings. Since that fact is true, every conceivable group of people since the beginning of time has had weak minded people.

I believe that hippies were often vile criminals. That does not change the notion of veternas being spit upon from myth to fact.

You continue to revel in highly simplistic reasoning.

If I personally know a veteran who was spit on does that change the notion of it being a myth?

Two can play that game. Saying homosexuals are weak minded is a denial of the generalization that they aren't.

Is this highly respectful anti-war sentiment a myth?

Is this highly respectful anti-war sentiment a myth?
Initially, one brow (and I) were attacking the generalization you made. There are literally millions of pacifists and anti-war activists who wouldn't spit on soldiers. Grouping them in with violent, disrespectful thugs and punks is extremely insulting, and is a perfect illustration of just how ignorant and hateful you are.

You are what's wrong with America.

Is this sort of insult tolerated on Jazzfanz?

I saw my comments as attacking this generalization made by unibrow:

Being anti-war is one of the best ways to show your love and respect for our military. Disparaging anti-war sentiments shows a fundamental disdain for their lives and sacrifices.

But being anti-war is one of the best ways to show your love and respect for our military. What a few thugs choose to do doesn't change that.

And you started with the insults by generalizing all "liberals",, those who consider themselves as "anti-war", and homosexuals.

Go ahead and report my post if you'd like. Someone needs to call you out for being a hateful, willfully ignorant war monger (and complete jackass).

Those "thugs" were being anti-war.

What leads you to believe I'm a war-monger?
Are homosexuals war mongers for joining the military?

Question 1: Is serving in the armed forces one of the best ways to serve your country?

Question 2: Does the existence of a very small number of rapists and murderers of innocent civilians in the armed forces change your answer to question 1?

Question 3: Do you get it now?

I'm buzzed and not lucid enough to read and process this thread right now but my dad served in Vietnam (he still barely talks about it) and is a pacifist I would say.
