Really good thread tho. Are we gonna repeat the "Hayward = focal point of offense" experiment again this year? Exum is a year away from being the focal point of our offense IMO. Would love him to put up Burke numbers at better percentages.

The best bet is Hayward, which is too bad cuz he's more of a legit second option. Leave the rock to the two guards pls. Let Hayward play that Parsons role.

At least IMO.

I think there are only three candidates.
Hayward is the favorite, burks has the next best chance, and kanter is the dark horse.

No one else has a chance in hell

Tough to say with a new coach. Hayward's minutes won't go any higher, so I don't expect his ppg to change for the better. Kanter may explode under Quin's system, but only if his D improves enough for Quin to be comfortable leaving him on the floor. I voted Burks because I expect his minutes to be on par with Hayward, which should give him the edge.

Fwiw, i think burks is the best scorer on the team.... that doesnt mean he will be the leading scorer though. Hayward will probably get between 5-8 more minutes per game and will probably be the go to guy again. (Gotta justify the contract)

I voted for Hayward. However, it's funny that the two with the greatest scoring potential are both up for new contracts (Burks & Kanter). It may be interesting to see big years from them, barring injury.

Great thread and good answers. FWIW, I went with Burks. I believe that he'll start but he'll be the first sub with Exum coming in. He'll probably sit for about 5 minutes and then he'll come in and suddenly we'll see Burks coupled with Exum and they'll wreak havoc on the opposing bench squad.

I can't wait for the season to watch.

These are the only candidates

It is not a bad thing that the leading scorer is Hayward. And it is not about justifying his contract. I think Hayward will thrive in Qfense. Certainly, without improving his 3pt% Hayward will not be the man, but if he does , then he will have success in this role for the Jazz.

I think this question makes the Jazz a really interesting team next year. The only two people who's likely to get over 12mins per game that would surprise me is Novak and Evans.

If I had to put a # on the chances from 1-10(being the highest)

Burks 7
Kanter 7
Hayward 6
Burke 5
Favors 5
Hood 4
Exum 2

Just from watching the offense in SL, I wouldn't completely count out Favors. I expect him to be improved on offense, and I can see him getting lots of easy dunks and layups, and who knows... Maybe he's improved his 15 ft J
