Cohen’s Analysis: Already an elite shot-blocker and excellent in transition – a facet the Pelicans expect to thrive at this season with their assemblage of upper-echelon guards – Davis is now developing a complete offensive repertoire. He also is becoming more confident as a one-on-one low post defender.

Davis spent a large portion of his offseason in the weight room to improve his strength, which has allowed him to become more physical against established power forwards. Davis will likely be this season’s Most Improved Player and if New Orleans exceeds expectations and evolves into a top five team in the West (not impossible) could be an MVP candidate.

Davis is another long athletic stud to form every teams nightmare of unguardable freaks of nature. George, Durant, and Hakeem say hello to your newest running mate. Davis is yet another long athletic two way player. Last year Davis broke out averaging a double double, with 20 ppg and 10 rpg. It's scary to think how good he is now, and consider the fact that he's only been in the league two years and still developing, and yet he's already a 20/10 player and one of the best defenders in the league, he might already be the top help defender currently thanks to his elite length, elite mobility, and athletic ability. Put Davis next to Hakeem, and they eliminate the other teams inside game. Teams and players will be content to stay on the perimeter.

Nice team, lots of scoring guards.

Are you planning to use Gervin as the 6th man? Because in my opinion, Iceman would start over both Allen and Worthy. He is one of my favs amongst the old goods.

My remaining and available trade assets:

Kevin Johnson & 121, 135.

Just looking to maybe move up a bit as well as grab a shooting guard.

Not looking for a offer that blows me away.

I'll hold off on saying right now. Once my final lineup is set, I'll state my lineup and my thinking in drafting and setting it.

Alex English
Alex English was the NBA's most prolific scorer during the 1980s and retired as the seventh-leading scorer with 25, 613 points. After being underutilized by the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers during his first four years in the league, English became the most explosive member of a high-powered Denver Nuggets team that consistently ranked among the league's top-scoring clubs. The sleek, 6-7 forward became the first player ever to string together eight straight 2,000-point seasons. more...

Alex English was one of greatest mid range jump shooters of all time. His high arching release made it hard for opponents to block his shots. He was good at shooting in traffic and had a nice fade away move (again because of his high arching shot). English was also an underrated passer who had solid court vision and a high basketball IQ. Alex English was a top ten player during the 80's.

He was a natural scorer with an incredible shooting touch in the perimeter, much like Bernard King. His go-to-moves were the turn-around and in-your-face jumpers from the perimeter of course. He could also run the wings and finish off the break.

This is a video of Nick Van Exel talking about Alex English and his game with highlights. If you don't know much about English, you will enjoy this.
