Easy there Sheriff. You are failing to live up to the standards you set.

gee I'm glad NAOS managed to shift attention away from one poster's familiarity with suicide, and how it ended up impacting another poster-- just so he could carry-out a misinformed psychoanalysis of a poster he does not know.

It's clear that he has a couple of axes to grind, so to sequester his thoughts and not respond to him would go against some of the very themes of this thread. Not surprised, but I'm also satisfied.

But not you, right?

Every time that I think I might need to tone things down around here, be nicer to people, and generally stop being such a dick, I just read a NAOS post and remember that some people just beg for it.

ECTYA -

Thanks for the story man. This has been a very eye opening and somewhat inspiring thread.

Poor noas
I hope he gets the help he needs.

You most definitely are, bro. That's my whole point. It was a nice treat this morning to sit down with my coffee, read some news, and then flip over to jazzfanz to see you wagging teh finger at someone.

Now that I think about it -- actually, there's no thinking necessary -- that's everything I need to facilitate a nice healthy bowel movement.

BRB

Get it all off your chest, brother. Tell me how you really feel.

So fixed was going for a cleveland steamer?

That explains a lot.

Definitely not surprised that this volley of posts felt like a summoning to the most indignant ******* in the history of jazzfanz. It's hard to summon him in real life, but HERE he's automatic.

If he doesn't continue to give people WHAT THEY DESERVE, then who will do it? srs.

I really think you should try to become a moderator. Maybe you could get them to loosen up a little with regards to alt paranoia, install a few other changes, and really let yourself feel how the good guys are winning. Maybe they'd even let you bring back George for a stroll every now and then and we'd all get a LOL. But most importantly, the real standards would be safe in your hands, bru. You can afford a few hours away from genetics and shopping for brand-name clothes.

Just think about it, ok.

If the mods spellbind Dala into an ******* like they did stoked then I'll hunt your sack down and make a purse out of it for E.J. Wells to brand.

I honestly think Dally would make a good moderator. Don't you?

Better mod than I would. 75% of the forum probably would lol.

Would it be Death As A Salesman: What's Wrong With Assisted Suicide ? There's a reason this film's mention are primarily in the various right-to-life/religious circles; it's arguments are specious and anecdote-driven.

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM199611283352227

Among the cases a euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide, less than 1% were without the explicit, concurrent consent of the patient.

Concerns about abuse are a distraction from the issues, not central to the issues.

Haven't paid too much attention to this thread, so this is a response to a question from a few days ago.

Actually I was referring to "How to Die in Oregon", which was actually very pro-euthanasia. Even so, some of the statements by the main "patient" in the film made me wonder if she was choosing to die for the right reasons. I always think there will be a slippery slope, and safeguards should be put in place so not just anyone can die. (The Netherlands, IIRC, has a policy that has become more and more liberal in who can die, and it goes too far imo). I am a euthanasia advocate, simply because people shouldn't have to suffer, and I think reasonable safeguards can be put in place to avoid abuse. I have had this debate with many of my friends, and I am surprised how many people are so against it. To me, I can see clear arguments on both sides of the abortion debate that both make sense. From a legal approach, I haven't seen any arguments against euthanasia that carry much weight.

Thanks for more private comments, guys. If I get a moment a little later, I may actually try to send many of you a PM.

Also, I too think Dala would be a great moderator. He is one of the best posters on the board, hands down. Intelligent, objective, level-headed.

whats the best and easiest way to comit suicide.
in my book it is suffocation. i been choked out many a times during training cus sometimes i refuse to tap.

being choked out s easiest.
what i dont get is why robin would first do the painful wrist cutting(according to certain reports) then proceed to hanging.
ofcourse gun is easier. but not every one has access to one

Choking induces panic, which can be very hard to overcome. Cutting just "hurts" (not to downplay it) and for many people I am sure if preferable to choking to death.

Evidently if you put your wrists in ice and then cut them in a warm tub it is not supposed to be painful. I could not do it though. Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, including me.

well i never panicked with choking. maybe because i have been doing judo since the age of 6.
one thing that scares me is drowning.
i have had a lot of cuts in my live. mostly they dont hurt because of adrenaline or happens in moments of action.
but if i cut myself in the kitchen, when cooking i cry like a baby. in comparison to getting cuts and sticthes during sparring/fighting.

but point is i still think wrist cutting is a major hurdle for me compared to being choked and passing out.
