Cant wait to see raul in the league..#thatboyisready

If I was DL, I'd be looking to trade Trey before the deadline. Dante's strengths are all in his PG skills, and forcing him to play off the ball could be bad for his confidence/ development. Trey's value might never be higher, and he wouldn't be happy backing up a rookie (not that Dante is ready to start). Neto, however, would be an ideal backup to Dante in 2015-16.

@Euroleague
Raul Neto: "I felt a lot of confidence shooting the ball. I had opportunities, and I was able to take advantage of it."

@sportando
Raulzinho Neto scored 21 points (FG: 9/10, 2PT: 8/9, 3PT: 1/1) with 1 rebounds and 2 assists in 24 minutes of action #Spain2014

^ another very nice shooting night from Neto.

I think Neto is better than Burke right now. Don't think it's tanking at all to move Burke and bring over Neto.

If you are worried about Exum's confidence why would you want to start him if he isn't ready?
Sometimes when a coach decides to start a player, it gives that player confidence because he realizes that the coach has confidence in the player and believes in him.

I hope we bring Neto ASAP and keep Burke. I always have thought Exum is a primarily a two-guard and he still needs time to develop. Neto brings something to the court we don't have, and that is someone who's skills are innately a prototypical point guard's. He'd be a great guy to bring off the bench as our back up point guard, and not worry about the second unit falling flat on it's face.

Sure that could happen, but it's far more likely that not being ready would result in poor play which would result in loss of confidence.

I don't see how apparently superior to Burke Neto would be happy to back up extremely raw Exum. If you aim at bringing Neto as your back up, you want to do that when you have your starting PG established himself and even probably having your team looking into playoffs because salaries will be a concern.

We could have had MCW if it wasn't for Corbin.

Playing a player out of position is easily more detrimental to their confidence. At this stage, the only thing SG about Exum is his height. While I don't think Exum would be ready to start on day one, I think he'd be ready to at least give us what Burke gave us last year by Jan. 1. Exum is the far better prospect, and ****ing up or altering his development trajectory just because we have Trey Burke on roster is insane. The cost to get Dante was too great.

Neto wants to be here. He spent his summer in SLC before joining his NT, because he wanted to be here. The FO were the ones who made the decision not to bring him over before he recently inked that three year deal with UCAM Murcia. Salary a concern? As the 9th pick in the draft, Trey will be making 2.5 mil this year, and 2.6+ the year after. If they shed Trey, there is more money for a backup PG. As a second round draftee who wants to play for the Jazz, the Neto contract shouldn't be an issue. Nikola Mirotic, who was a bonafide euro star (and a big!), which Neto is not, is only getting less than 6 mil a year. He was widely regarded as the best international player.

There is something to be said about building and growing with a team. Neto plays the style of basketball that this team wants to play. Bringing him sooner rather than later could actually help us reach our goals. We can't just say "when we're contenders" and neglect the fact that there is a process to becoming a contender. Neto might need to be a part of that process.

I like Neto, I like Burke, but I don't really know how I feel about either of them as players in the NBA.

If you are saying don't play him out of position out of fear for what it could do to his confidence it's equally as harmful to play him at all if he isn't ready.

Therefore sitting Dante isn't altering his trajectory in favor of Trey. Not being ready to play at that level is doing that to Exum.

Thanks you.

This is my worry too. Watching Exum play off ball with Australia vs him playing point with Australia has me even more convinced that Exum is a PG.

Someone else pointed out that if you played Burke and Exum together you'd have a problem at both positions. Instead, if you played Exum and Burks together you're creating mismatch problems with the opposing team.

To me the solution is very simple.
