2014 College Football

In the NFL, maybe. Not in college football.
I suppose you're right, when it comes to bowl selection.
I guess We'll just have to see how much it matters at the end of the year, when we beat houston by less than we were supposed to at home in the second week of september. I, also, would have preferred a blow out. But in the scheme of things ( -3 turnover margin, home opening jitters, texas blowout hangover, and a short prep week) Id say we got out of a mean trap relatively unscathed with Taysom Hill still in one piece. Just call me an optimist.

Anyone still want to debate Hill vs Wilson? Hill is an amazing runner. He's not a QB.

Based on what?

Your 2 blowout wins against 2 decent high school teams? I seem to remember a Wilson last year who was wildly inaccurate with the ball. In fact, didn't he throw a 6 interception game? Give it a few weeks, Green. You're still in the honeymoon phase with Wilson this year.

It wasn't just Hill last night who stopped playing but the entire team. Receivers played extremely dumb. Right before the half with seconds remaining the WR tried to run over a safety rather than get out of bounds. Completely changed the game. The defense which started off uber aggressive and even scored a safety, became very soft and allowed their QB to get comfortable.

I give credit to Houston's WRs and secondary for making big plays. But the truth of the matter is BYU let up a few mins before the half and it will most likely cost them in the polls.

Anyone else find it funny how in a thread where the last page or two have been posts about the BYU-Houston game, a Utah fan finds it necessary to blast Hill and elevate Wilson?

I thought lil brother was "so over" the petty rivalry because you're into the Big Cool PAC 12?

Combine this with all the comments over Hall...

Too funny!

Face it lil brother, you're the Joker to BYU's Dark Knight. You're obsessed with us.

Because your sarcasm was awful. Bad. "Taysom"? That alone deserved a neg. High School stats? Come on. Address the stats I posted.

You are using last year to prove why someone is better this year. inane

Of course my mockery was over the top, your comparison and stat usage is very dumb. If you are trying to prove who was better last year fine, but to prove who is better this year?

That was pretty "meh".

2 huge negative plays because of Juergens. I was hoping before, and especially now after wishing that Blackmon got the plays that Juergens was in for. Not sure if they play the same receiver position, but we need a receiver that will go out of bounds when there is no time on the clock instead of trying to fight for an extra yard, and a receiver with stronger hands to pull down the catch instead of giving it away to the corner.

Those 2 plays were the 2 worst I can remember from the game.

Dak would have broken that tackle.

Dak is a sissy. ESPN showed some stat during the game that Taysom had broken 10 tackles and juked 10 defenders out of their shorts and the game wasn't even over yet.

lol BYU just lucked out.

1/2 true, partially lucked out that their mistakes didn't cost them the game, partially did well enough to still win

Lol the kicker flopped.

100% true

Yeah, Taysom Hill a poor man's Dak. Dak thrives in the redzone and gets TD's. Taysom shrinks.

Completely false, you have your poop colored glasses on. MS State school colors is that poop color still right?

I addressed the trolling because I was bored. There, enjoy.

I've already done that. Both teams have played weak competition. Hill has shown he excels at the RB swing pass. Wilson is the #2 rated QB in the country.

This year, Wilson is putting up over 600 yards a game and 68 points a game. As everyone on this board likes to say, "but dat Hill doe"....

green you are adamant that wilson is a better qb and hill is a better runner. why make the distinction? this isn't the nfl. there isn't only one mold for a good qb. being a better passer is not the only indicator. i'm not saying hill is better than wilson, i think hill is a poor passer. but he is a good qb. two different things.

Hill is a very good QB. Has amazing skills as a runner, ok as a passer. Wilson is better. That's all I'm saying. Every stat backs me up.

My question of Hill is, did he give up an All Pro NFL career as a safety to play QB a couple more years? Incredible athlete.

Lol.
Has cy ever watched a football game before?

I guess he learned something last night.... kickers flop even when there is very little contact.... all of them at every level of football. It's what they are trained/coached to do

2 games against crap competition. Way too early to be drawing any conclusions, but spin on. They both appear to be good, can that not be good enough for you?

Holy extrapolations Batman!

I'd say the same about Hill. Neither team has played a good team yet. If you can tout Hill's games vs weak competition, I can tout Wilson's. Hill has been outstanding. Wilson has been better.

Walking away from this. You are drawing conclusions with very little data. Talk to me when both have played 5-6 games.
