BYU is not a perfect team though, that's for sure. They don't pressure the QB well and QBs that can read defenses can pick them apart. I really think BYU's defensive philosophy is built around QBs sucking. And it's probably a good bet. There aren't many college teams with QBs that can throw it around well enough to beat them and that also have the defense to stop BYU's offense.

BYU should definitely be ranked. They have looked good for the moments I have watched them. Hill is probably the 2nd best dual threat QB behind Prescott.

They don't have enough discipline to be ranked imo. Too many penalties and their D just isn't where it should be. If they don't improve in both of these areas they won't stay in the AP poll and they are going to lose more than one game that they really shouldn't.

Agree. I watched most of their last two games, and I don't think the games were as close as the scores were

A win is a win. They made more plays. That's what matters, and a sign of a good team.
 
Wilson fell from his lofty #2 in QB rating. He fell down to #3 in the country. Hope his face heals up. He should have a big week against WSU.

In BYU's defense, they have played a tough schedule so far. That will change really quick here, but there aren't too many undefeated teams who have played two P5 teams right now.

Again, in a couple of weeks they won't deserve to be ranked, but right now they've earned it.

Since the games were on at the same time, I didn't get to see much of BYU, but just by looking at the box score I was shocked to see that Virginia out gained them by a pretty good margin. Virginia is certainly improved from last year but they still looked pretty limited offensively until they played in Provo. Also, I think it's pretty obvious that Taysom is the most dynamic, explosive player in the state but I did flip over enough to see him throw a handful of passes and I'm not sold that he is much better of a passer than he has been in the past. He has improved, but I don't think by leaps and bounds.

If there is a team on BYU's schedule that can limit his effectivity as a runner and force him pass the entire game, it will be interesting to see how that plays out. I do know this: I'd give anything to see Utah and BYU face off in a bowl game this year. I know it won't happen, but that would be epic.

Dillion Day probably going to be suspended multiple games for being a huge dick though :(

I've often wondered why Cy insists on talking MSU football on a site where literally nobody else gives a ****. It seems like it would be a much more fulfilling endeavor engaging in the discussion with people who actually care.

I'd been thinking about joining a MSU fan board and force feeding the masses my opinions on Utah football, including doing constant in-game updates for Ute games but then I remembered, I'm not an *******.
 
This is a general college football thread. Last I checked, MSU was a part of college football. I, for one, now give a **** about Mississippi State Football thanks to CT's compelling updates. DAKATTACK!!

Also, I've decided to root for BYU to go undefeated and hope for a BYU vs MSU bowl game, in the unlikely chance MSU doesn't also go undefeated and play in the National Championship game.

I suppose I can root for the Dak and MSU as a second team this year, just for you Cy.

I'll do this in honor of your absurd comments about MSU beating LSU in death valley coming true.
