Top movies of 2010

What bothers you so much about my answer?

If I knew how to photoshop, it would say, "I dont do top tens", although this one fits pretty well.

A summation of the Inception hatahs
I don't like Inception, because other people liked it. wah

Anything that a large portion of the population enjoys, that actually requires a mammalian brain to decipher (more so than your average Will Ferrell movie), is posing as a psuedo-intelligent movie, and since I can meticulously scrutinize what the movie wasn't and how it fails to achieve Citizen Kane status(where the movie is supposedly fantastic, yet nobody except true snobbery likes it)... I can maintain the elitist gap. *phew

I didn't get it. So I'm going to side with Kicky so I can win smart points by association.

Stupidity posing as "critical thinking" FTW!!!

This movie was okay, I guess. If it had decent writing, it'd be good. But it didn't. So... this one should go down with Alfie, The Soloist, and Oceans 13 as movies that were almost good.

You know what pisses me off, how this movie couldn't actually of happened. Dreams aren't slow because the brain is fast when you're sleeping. Dreams are slow, just because they're slow, and that's just the way it is. I hate how someone actually tried to assign rules to a fictional idea, to make it seem real or something... that's just poor writing. It's fiction dammit, nothing should be explained, and when people ask questions on why a movie progressed the way it did, the only acceptable answer is... this isn't actually real.

You know what else I hate, is they tried to give explanations of dream sharing and how it worked, within the context of the film. Again... poor writing. They should have just had a guy who looks like colonel sanders explain it all in 15 minutes on a whiteboard before the movie, so instead of this movie going so long, everyone could just refer back to colonel sanders explanation.

The truth is, I have no clue what the hell I'm talking about. But I'm going to be contrary and throw around "industry terms' like cinematography and best boy, so people think I'm like an actual critic for the Chicago Tribune or something, LOLZ. Hell if I throw in some 10th grade english ideas like climax and build-up, they'll probalby think I'm a linguistics major from St. John's or something. **** yeah.

Just wow.

I have no idea why you feel as if you have to flail out with some lame personal attack because we don't like the same movies. Many of us are perfectly comfortable with the idea of other people liking movies we don't like, and vice versa.

It goes without saying that your "interpretation" of what I wrote doesn't accurately portray my thoughts.

If it bothers you so much, why don't you try again, and this time instead of putting words in my mouth that I didn't say or intend, address the actual content of my post and show me how I'm wrong. :)

Because several years of experience on this board have repeatedly demonstrated that this is a losing strategy for him.

Im guessing the real reason that TSN made it onto so many of your lists is because it somehow validates your Facebook use. LIke, you were in the in-crowd before FB made it big or something.

I think this is a valid point. Just as FB'ers hated the SouthPark episode where they make fun of FB, these same people rave about TSN.

Considering I've never watched one SP episode and hate FB and everything it stands for (though I do have an account), no. It's a great movie. Period.

Herr SimpleTool,

What are your thoughts on Adolf Hitler and his 3rd Reich?

Danke.

Cry harder, woog. I didn't mean to poke your feel-bads about your favorite movie.

For as often as I find you amusing, sometimes you are a total moran.

It's actually not my favorite movie at all. It's a good movie, no more, no less. Some of your criticisms are frankly rahtarded and you follow it up by BEING rahtarded. So, I don't know what the point is of discussing something with you as if I'm expecting a competent response. I'll stop wasting my time now.

I also enjoyed the hell out of Scott Pilgrim too. It helps that I was/am a video game geek from the NES era.

I am really surprised at how many people like this movie. I am/was a video game geek starting from the NES days, too, and found the movie to be irritating, nonsensical and totally overproduced.

I probably do have the aptitude to do so.

But what's the point, really?

Well in this case, the point would be that we could have an honest conversation about the movie, if you want to, rather than attack each other on a personal level and make up a lot of untrue things.

I always prefer the former...

Watched a movie that I would slot into the top 10 today: I Love You Phillip Morris.

Of course given that its domestic box office is $1.3 million I'm guessing no one else watched it on here.

Nice try.

?? At what? What do you think I'm trying to do?

Revised Top 10 would be:

1. The Social Network
2. Solitary Man (technically an 09 film but released in the US in May of 2010)
3. True Grit
4. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (The most surprisingly polarizing film on Jazzfanz)
5. I Love You Phillip Morris
6. Black Swan
7. Toy Story 3
8. Buried
9. I'm Still Here
10. The Kids are All Right

I can see how some wouldn't like it. It is loud, for lack of a better term. I just liked the style of it.
