Following potential 2015 draftees

Towns > Porzingis > Walker for me.

If we draft wing and address the big men depth and skilllevel in other ways, I want Winslow.

Not convinced of Oubre and Johnson at this point. They have to show me something special.

Winslow will surprise people in the shadow of Okafor at Duke.

His passing is what I think could separate him more than any other attribute.

Kinda sad watching this because what he's doing is what I thought Kanter could do. Post up game. Inside-outside versatility. Great length for the C position.

Towns seems like he is already better than Favors offensively... defensively if Gobert is a capable Pivot, then I think that is a great young core.

Gobert
Towns
Hayward
Burks
Exum

That team could be scary good in 3-4 years if everyone can play to their full potential.

I see a lot of Tim Duncan in Towns actually..

- Intelligent player, high basketball IQ offensively and defensively.

- fundamentally sound, can rebound, can block shots, can score in the post, potentially a very complete player

- Legit 7 footer but seems very mobile on his feet

- plays both side of the ball

- can stroke the jumper

- Excellent passer & team player

Those are solid posts kkk.. I usually pick comps apart and I feel most people only watch the highlights of the highlight reels.. but you did a good job here. Well done.

Mario Hezonja crew checking in, especially since he grew two inches to 6'8 in the last year or so.

So now towns is a lot like Tim Duncan?

I knew someone would do this.

I see a lot of 'fundamental similarities' between say a young Tim Duncan and what Towns currently possess (High IQ 7 footer who is good on his feet, good rebounder/shot-blocker, good post up game/faceup game). Like anything it's really down to what Towns does with the talent that he has to maximise his potential.

Here's the University of Kentucky Pro Day measurements:

Some impressive measurements. Interesting thing is that Towns measured whole 4 inches shorter reach than at Nike Hoop summit(9'1'' vs 9'5''), I don't know who measured him at HS but the difference is quite shocking. He also measured 1 inch shorter height, and 1/4 inch shorter wingspan.

Poythress with near freakish athleticism, but just average wingspan/reach for a SF. Town's isn't a true 7 footer, but more athletic than we thought.

What scouts are talking about..

WCS with a 37" vert on a 7 footer has gotten the attention it deserves.

Harrison's from sluggish last year to lowest body fat on the team speaks volumes.

Johnson's weight getting shed and him showing some hops at 33" vert.

Quite a few scouts are still very intrigued by Poythress and are taking bets on him being the standout player this year for UK.

Why is WCS still in college? Anything to do with the injury?

WCS still somehow has a huge stock.

At this point I really doubt he can hit his ceiling of a less effective Tyson Chandler considering how slowly his development is coming along.

I wouldn't touch him before late lottery if he declared unless he had a real breakout season providing both a shotblocking and rebounding presence to lead a team full of mediocre defender to a historic defensive rating while really showing improved timing and feel for the game offensively.

But somehow I suspect one exec won't be able to withstand the temptation and draft him earlier than he's projected regardless of how he develops. He's a freakishly athletic and mobile 7 footer and has no baggage he carries along.

That combined with a hail mary will prolly convince some GM, whose defense fails hard and finds himself on the hot seat.

Notables (with more than 100 scouts in attendance);

- Tyler Ulis ran the 3/4 court in 3.07 seconds... which is faster than any player at the 2013 & 2014 NBA Draft Combine.

- Devin Booker & Tyler Ulis both ran the "Lane Agility" drill faster than any player in the 2013 & 2014 NBA Draft Combine.

- Over the last 2 NBA Draft Combines, only one guard had a faster 3/4 court time than Andrew Harrison.

- Over the last 2 NBA combines, the only 2 guards with a faster "agility drill" than Andrew Harrison.

- Last 2 combines, only two guards with faster "shuttle" times than Devin Booker & Aaron Harrison.

- Last 2 combines, only one C/F with a faster 3/4 court than Poythress.

- Last 2 combines, only one C/F with faster "lane agility" time than Cauley-Stein, Poythress, Lee, & Towns .

- Last 2 combines, ONLY ONE GUARD ran a faster 3/4 court than Poythress & Cauley-Stein.

Disclaimer: This was done preseason as opposed to post season.. and I would assume this gives these kids an advantage over the normally scheduled combine. But nonetheless, these are some shockingly big results from a preseason cbb team. (and likely why UK has the best preseason odds - Vegas - to win it all that I have ever seen)

It's so weird reading about the Harrison twins quickness and agility test and knowing just how mediocre they are at defense.

Yep. I'm a member of the Super Mario fan club. Outside of the top 2-3 prospects, he might be my favorite kid coming out this year. He could be special down the road.

Wouldn't be a bad pick. He'll be 20. Could stash him another 2 years until we know what Hayward is going to do. Or bring him over if Burks leaves.

|____ Surprised about Booker, he has this "not dynamic player" reputation wherever I read about him.

- Over the last 2 NBA Draft Combines, only one guard had a faster 3/4 court time than Andrew Harrison.

^
|____Thankfully for his opponents his first step is the slowest in the game of basketball and when thinking about "verticality" he stretches his body out horizontally.
