Does anyone see this series making it to 6 games? This feels like Giants / Texas Rangers redux. Giants put up 10 hits.

I don't know much about the Royals, but I'm not seeing the pitching. Wild pitches, walking in runs, giving up flurries, etc. all in the home opener. The Giants scratched out wins over teams with good pitching. Not sure what the Royals are bringing to the table.

Royals bullpen is really good. Starters are fair. Giants offense is far superior, however, and, as a team, have much more experience with playoff baseball.

Wow.... oh how the game can suddenly turn.

Bochy deserves the blame on this one. Best long reliever is Petit. He should have been brought in, not Machi. And Strickland has been mostly awful in the postseason thus far with a 6.75 ERA coming in which has now ballooned to 10.13.

Bochy got outmanaged this game.

Royals have a big advantage going forward with Hudson/Vogelsong pitching the next two games. It will be a must win for Hudson and then Bumgarner. Hope Madison can pitch 5 innings in Game 7 if it goes that far.

Also I thought Peavey has a couple more innings in him. He only pitched like what, 58 pitches? One walk and you replace him? C'mon.

Is Bumgardner gonna be back starting in this series? How long do starters usually rest?

He'll pitch in Game #5. Starters usually pitch every 5 days. Because of the travel day tomorrow, that means only 4 starters are needed instead of 5. Definite advantage to KC as Vogelsong is shaky.

If I were Bochy, I'd hope Bumgarner can pitch a great 6 innings with the Giants jumping out to a big lead. Then I'd pitch Bumgarner for 3-4 innings in Game 7 and turn it over to Petit after that (if it goes that far).

But please, for the love of Hayward, do NOT use Strickland. He's getting lit up. What does Bochy see in that guy? Sure, he throws hard, but his pitches are flat.
