2014 College Football

Cy keeps bringing up the WSU loss as Utah's downfall. The funny thing is, Mississippi State has give up plays of 60 yards or more every game this year. Against that piss poor schedule. I'm not 100% sure Mississippi State beats WSU's passing game.

Look at what Kentucky and UAB did to that defense. Mississippi State might win, but it would be a game.

They gave up 435 yards passing to UAB. You think WSU, Leach and Halliday couldn't get 500+ on Mississippi State?

But, dat SEC doe. Dey for reals. Look at dat schedule. Week in week out. Grind. Hells ya.

Who gives a **** about yards?

State has one of the best red zone defenses in the nation and turns the ball over on defense.

You have been negged for being an absolute tard.

Pointing to yards as a reason a team sucks is beyond retarded, it's even more retarded than nitpicking narrow wins.

A win is a win (through means of scoring points) until Football changes the rules to measure points in yards. Maybe when that happens the PAC-12 can finally start to beat the SEC.

Also, maybe the PAC-12 is too scared to schedule games against the SEC? Thought about that?

SEC schedules games against all the other big conferences. Come at us PAC-12.

I challenge y'all to send Oregon to Kentucky next year. Kentucky's QB would **** all over PAC-12 defense.

Nope. SEC has exactly ZERO good QB's. I would quote for proof but am honoring NAOS' request over humoring greenwithenvy.

Srsly think y'alls QB is legit awesome. If he gets some better WR in the next 2 years I think he could be a beast, as well as the coaching staff trusting their RB's more.

Yeah, Towles is legit.. and young. Our special teams sucks.

This is just factually inaccurate. If anything, you can make the case that it is the other way around and some teams in the SEC are afraid to play a certain team in the PAC-12. Both Texas A&M and Georgia bitched out on Oregon.

"Oregon agreed, just as Oregon agreed when Georgia asked (for other reasons) to cancel a two-game series with the Ducks in 2015-16. Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said in 2010 there was "mutual agreement" to cancel the series, but that's another technicality. Georgia wanted out and Oregon allowed it to happen, even allowed Georgia to save face by calling the decision "mutual."

If you want to argue talent in the SEC vs other conferences, that's one thing, but their scheduling is beyond defending. I'm sure it's happened, but when's the last time anybody can remember the SEC playing a non conference game west of Texas? How often are they willing to travel up north for a non conference game? The SEC knows what they're doing. Never leave the south to play a football game, refuse to go to 9 conference games, and mix in 2 Or 3 FCS and/or bottom feeding FBS schools each year.

Why should they stop? Voters lap it up and when one of their big boys do manage to lose a conference game, they barely drop and are quickly voted right back into position to make a run.

Here is how I view the SEC. Winning that conference is brutal and probably means they are a top 1-2 team in the country. But losing a game in conference does not hurt them. They don't drop and they stay too high in the polls. They never go play a legit non-conference schedule and they never travel willingly. The 2nd tier teams in that conference are overrated despite losing multiple games and not playing anybody out of conference on the road.
.
Conversely winning the other big 5 conferences is difficult and most years means the winner should be a top 5 team. The winners of these conferences is generally better than all but maybe the top SEC team. But losing a game in these conferences is deemed a big problem. Lose one game and they drop significantly. Lose a game late in the year and you might as well forget getting any respect. Even if the team you lose to is also a top team in the conference.
.
Basically the problem with the SEC is they don't go play anybody but SEC schools for the most part and they aren't held accountable for even loses to bottom of the SEC teams.
.
So I'm not saying they are not the best conference. I'm saying that they are not as far above the rest as the media and East coast fans claim.

3 of the top 4 teams from the SEC... smh

It's a great setup when all of your teams are highly ranked, that way, when you eventually lose to someone you can justify a small drop (instead of a big drop) because the team they lost to is ranked. It's lame, and no other conference benefits from that the way the SEC does. I knew the instant I saw the LSU-Ole Miss result that LSU was moving into the top 15 and Ole Miss would only drop a few spots. It's a great setup when you're the one benefiting from it, but it doesn't really show what's real. I can't think of another sport/league setup that makes it SO easy to play the system as college football. There isn't really a good way to compare all the teams together, it's all a bunch of stats tailored to fit your paradigm, and what conference your favorite team plays in. I love college football, but I'm tired of sportscasters shining the collective SEC balls.

This is just me, but if my team was sitting #1 in the playoff rankings, I wouldn't give a rats *** about which conference(s) were getting left out of a ranking system that's officially not even 1 week old. But hey, whatever melts your butter.

I don't, I just enjoy seeing all the butt-hurt.

That's awesome for you. I don't know if MSU will lose this year, and they're certainly easy to root for, but should they lose, the thought of you crying yourself to sleep in your mother's basement will fill my heart with warmth and joy.

Can a person not give rats asses about more than one thing at a time? Can a person not revel in their teams success and laugh at everyone who talks **** about their conference at the same time?

There are no basements in Mississippi......

Yep, pretty much before the year started I said we would have a good year and Dak would be a Heisman candidate. I got laughed at and said talking about a Mississippi team on a Jazz forum wasn't allowed. Y'all created this monster.
