Redemption Game: Utah Jazz @ Dallas Mavericks

I have to say, our perimeter play hasn't been good in either game. On offense it's largely due to the fact that our guards aren't solid shooters. Concurrently, they aren't great defenders either.

Burke just looks mediocre to me.

You pinpointed all the problems!

I think the biggest impact players the Jazz have are going to be Gobert and Exum. Favors is a decent Serge Ibaka type. Hayward and Burks could still win me over--the potential is there.

The Jazz need an athletic, explosive 6'8" guy who can score a bunch. We still don't have a guy to run the offense through, so we run this Princeton-looking stuff.

We haven't had a decent shooter at PG since Mo Williams was here last. I thought Burke would be better than this, but maybe he sold us a bill of goods with his NCAA tournament run.

Kanter got blocked by Dirk. By Dirk of all people, not exactly a block machine or defensive juggernaut. Kanter didn't even make a convincing pump-fake or make any effort to generate space with a guy with a few inches in height and reach on his back. Remind me again why anyone was excited about this guy? In the same position any decent PF or C would have at least ended up with FTs out of that.

This is a big problem. We have literally NO shooters. Corrections, we have no "makers" we have too many willing to shoot all day long.

I think Kanter was supposed to be the next Kevin Love, only tougher.

I finally found a stream for the game and at least in the 2nd half I haven't heard Boler talk about anyone banging anything down. Maybe he can learn something after all.

Oh yeah I keep forgetting about his other-worldly 3 pt ability. Mainly because you tend to not believe in things you never see, like unicorns and eskimoes.

I guess that you get with a young team so far. Phoenix surprised people last year, but they were sure a lot older.
Jazz aren't a young team anymore the core four has been in the league for 3-4 years now. No reason for piss poor play, unless they just straight up suck
