What's new

GM #9: 11/12/2014 - Utah Jazz(3-5) @ Atlanta Hawks(3-3) [5.30 PM MDT, 7.30 PM ET and 1.30 AM CET]

Well then their game plan sucked because Hayward got at least a half dozen good looks that didn't go down.

Jazz owned the paint on both ends of the floor. Hawks couldn't stop the drive and dish all night long. I would have like to see them continue going that way; but Hayward's been a beast - you can't kill them for going to that well one more time.

I think sometimes the drive-and-dish plays get less effective as the game goes on... as the drivers get tired. Seeing as we lack drivers (and Burks is pretty poor at drive-and-dish), it makes sense to me that that became less of an option.

My gripe with Q's coaching last night was taking Hayward out after 2 fouls. I can't help but wonder if Hayward would have helped prevent the wheels from coming off at the end of the half. He might have gone with Kanter more in this game, too. Damn, he was playing well.... giving me hope. (But Trey, ... ****.)

Lol Rev9 negged me for no reason with the line "Your lover boy sucked tonight"

We got a Hayward hater.
Come on rev, you are better than that..... hayward had a small stretch on the road against a good team where he struggled.

He has been great this season. Save the hate until he truly deserves it at least.

I know cy can be douchy but don't take it out on Hayward just yet

Time-outs don't stop runs.
Are you saying that during a timeout, during the time coaches are in the huddles with the players, that the opposing team continues to put pts on the board?

None of these losses has gotten to me so far. Usually I rage after a Jazz loss. Now, I just like watching them play and work through the mistakes.

When Favors threw the ball out of bounds I just laughed and shrugged my shoulders.

This year rules.

Hawks commentators were suprized about Jazz offense, not going through Kanter in the post more, for the last minutes of the game. Kanter could have easily dropped 30 today and Utah would have won.

I agree. When the shots stopped falling and the Hawks recognized that the Jazz were still settling for outside shots their defense became a lot easier. Why not keep a little post pressure on them? Oh well, the reality is that if just a couple of shots would have fallen we would have got the win, so I can't be too bummed about what was otherwise some nice play by our young team.

I've decided that I want a line up of:

Favors/Gobert
Millsap/Booker/Evans
Hayward/DMC/Hood
Korver/Burks/Hood
Exum/Burke/Neto

13 guys. What would that record be?

I've raged pretty hard the last 2 games.

Agree 100%
I love watching these guys grow up on the court together..... when they lose it sucks, but not much (I would definitely prefer to win)

I still really like all of our guys.

Still highly encouraging that once they learn how to close out games we start winning those. Then suddenly we are 5-4 instead of 3-6

Yup, highly encouraged we lost to one of the worst teams in the league (Pacers) and got beat by an average Hawks team without 2 rotation players.

How dare this team not be perfect!!! How dare they fall apart in the closing minutes!!!

They should be performing on at least a playoff teams level.

Give me a break.

Just not "highly encouraged" by anything I've seen on this road trip other than Hayward's 4th quarter takeover in Detroit.

I've been ticked over the last two losses. But when it comes to something you have passion for, being ticked is far better than being indifferent.

Kanter has looked good recently.
Burks had a semi breakout game
Gobert swatting shots
Burke with 11 assists and a double double
Ingles finally made a couple shots

I think all those are encouraging but I'm a glass half full kind of dude by nature

Let's call it a triple double with 10 missed shots (5-15).

Didn't you get the memo? The Jazz suck at everything and their is no excuse.

You're starting to sound like AKMVP

Nah, he sounds like ME!

But I'm used to being unpopular. I was one of the very first "trade-AK" proponents and got eviscerated for it. Can't say I was the first to speak out on Burke. There were quite a few who disliked the pick. But I saw early last season he was not going to be our PGOTF.

On the choke meter last night's game was a 12 (1 out of 10). I still laugh at the fans who thought Millsap didn't play hard with the Jazz. Dude is a Jazzman for life as far as I am concerned and I wished he had stayed with the Jazz. The irony was that both former Jazzman killed the Jazz last night.

Just a horrible stretch the last 3 minutes. Oh well, move on because there is another game.

There is a difference between being unpopular and always negative. Sometimes being unpopular isn't a good thing.

Really sucks if you see our record. Could easily been 5-4 right now. Really need the next game before we play the Raptors.
