What's new

The Jazz play the nix tonight at 5:30

Favors was a little underrated tonight. Really strong numbers though.
Favors is what he is..... and I am happy as can be about it.

Favors gets basically zero hate and at the same time, zero love.

He just does his job and does it well.

Just a really solid player

If you're so open minded about differing opinions, then you're going to have to live with people thinking you're a douche.

For being a premium member of the board I would hope you would welcome "new posters" opinions more than just saying "nu-uh douche". It seems I made a mistake in assuming so.

It's like being Dennis Quaid's character in Major League 2. Did you have the same opinion that the Jazz wouldn't win in the finals after Stockton hit his shot? I have no high expectations for Burke, but this is where he shines. Being Debbie Downer after a buzzer beater seems self loathing.

Yes, timing is everything which is exactly my point. There is even a new thread saying how awesome Trey is and how the one shot he made just erases the other games. I'm just trying to say "uhhh guys, remember the other 9 or so games"?

Usually I'm not for doubling down on the opposing team's best player - but The Knicks had NO ONE step up other than Carmelo. I would have liked to have seen The Jazz force him to pass it out at least a couple of times.

Major props for how Hayward hung in there though - definitely looked like he was outside his comfort zone banging away.

Jazz wih the W baby.
I hate how we are giving up leads that easy but love that we are in every single game! Hell, yeah.
Trey with a good game. I hope he can coninue to shoot like that. And that game winner? I mean was their really a question? We all know he'll make those.

Now go and beat the Raps!

Remember when everyone was saying they hoped Hayward could earn at least half of that contract. At this point he's playing above his contract.

It was a decent contest, but had he been more aggressive, there's no way Anthony hits that shot with favors and length.

Anthony is actually a pretty good scorer. He makes shot on all kinds of defenders all the time.
Favors got isolated on melo (a huge mismatch) and forced him to throw up a prayer. Melo got a lucky bank to go in. Melo is a decent scorer.

Sorry but we will have to agree to disagree on this one as I think the shot melo took was exactly what we hoped for..... it was simply a lucky shot imo

Well it's the whole new team payroll increase that's expected to come down. In a year or two Hayward's contract is going to seem like we got him on the cheap. I thought the Jazz slightly over-payed him on the current pay scale, but he has shown me that he is worth that money this year and even more in the next few years :)

Just want to throw a tiny bit of love alec burks way.....
He led the team in minutes (39) and only had 1 turnover, passed the ball well, made his only 3 point attempt, hit two semi clutch free throws (shooting 89% from the line so far this season), and harassed melo a little bit (also got abused by melo some too but that is expected) and was 3-9 from the field (2 shots as the shot clock buzzer was going off and a few no calls by the refs contributed to this)

Isn't that where you should have posted, then? People excited about a game winner in the game thread seemed to be your point of tempering down.

Jazz had 25 assists tonight too. The only thing that hurt them was the 18 turnovers. I'm pretty sure we were better in everything else compared to the Knicks.

Agreed. If im being honest, I don't expect him to continue to play THIS good all year and think he will come back down to earth a little but so far so good!

I'm not even sure why I'm arguing this with you, but if you watch the replay there was definitely space. Even just finished listening to Britton Johnson explain how you get so close that the shooter can't bend his legs to get into the shot, and he wouldn't have had to even jump.

I must've watched this Twenty times, looking at every person's reaction to the game winner.

This was huge for Trey. Hopefully it breaks the slump.
Hayward has taken a giant leap this year!
Also I feel like the offense really puts Alec out of his iso element. I think QS is smart enough to figure out how to teach or incorporate his talents without going to pure iso ball.

I feel like we have a ton of special players that are elite in one area. If QS can put it all together in harmony this team will continue to surprise. Call me a homer.
