Following potential 2015 draftees

So consensus top 3 appears to be: Okafor, Mudiay and Towns.

Next tier: Winslow, Hezonja, Porzingis, Johnson and maybe Oubre.

If the Jazz could somehow wiggle into the top 7 of this draft, that would be best. However, we're more likely to end up in the 8 - 10 range.

That being the case, it might actually be worth trading Trey Burke at the trade deadline if for no other reason than keeping us lottery competitive.

Others have said it, but Utah needs a stretch 4 or a 3 and D guy with a really high motor. I still believe in Kanter, and I think we can overpay a 3 and D guy in free agency with a contract that won't look bad when the cap increases.

I think the Jazz need a go-to scorer. Too many times when I'm watching their games, I see the graphic "no fg in last 4:30" or something to that effect. I think Mario Hezonja would fit in Quin's system really well. He's a good mover off the ball and a great athlete. He can make plays either creating shots for himself or by making passes. He has good defensive potential as well. I think he can become a go-to guy at the 2 and be a pretty complete player. Eventually, Alec could be the sixth man and dominate second units, and we could run a huge and athletic lineup of Exum (6'6), Hezonja (6'8), Hayward (6'8), Kanter (6'11), Favors (6'10).

Le'Bryan Nash is quietly having a pretty good start to the year without Marcus Smart. He could be a find in the 2nd round. Big physical tweener who could provide us some muscle. Sucks that he went completely away from shooting 3's at all, but he is what we need from a physical standpoint.

Kevon Looney having a good start for a Freshman too at UCLA. Long PF who hits the glass hard and plays defense.

Anyone else think this draft will be very good? Seems like there is a ton of depth (barring who comes out). There aren't any highly touted guards (besides Mudiay), but damn are there a lot of forwards.

It could be... I like how Caris LeVert has started the year as well(right now he's at 16/7/4.5)... He seems really long and athletic for the SG position as well as laterally quick... It seems like he's kept his shooting form from last year and is shooting again over 40% from 3. He's a young junior and still has the possibility to get stronger so he'd be more effective defender, but the potential is there for him to be a really nice two-way player.

Winslow has been ballin' too. There are so many interesting prospects...

To me, Kevon Looney has that slightly awkward, does-some-nice-things-but-not-sure-what-he's-really-good-at look like a Brandan Wright or Ed Davis. I'll have to watch him more. I'm not sure if he's a guy who'd help the Jazz or not.

The draft looks really solid through the top-8.

Okafor, Mudiay, Towns, Porzingis, Hezonja, Winslow, Johnson, and Oubre all seem to have prototypical size and the talent to be impact players.

Kaminsky intruges me.

I thought Nikola Jokic had withdrawn from the draft last year, he was one of the players I wanted in the second round. Apparently, Denver got him with 41st.

Sadly I've become sceptical of Michigan's players.. Burke, Stauskus, GRIII ... all of them have been big time College players but none of them have so far translated... makes me wonder if it's the 'system' that make them seem better than who they really are as players?

(sorry Bluenote >__<)

Looney isn't that explosive, but his fluidity, timing and feel for the game look pretty advanced. Decent shooting touch too. I like him as a prospect more than Noah Vonleh, which says what exactly, I don't know.

A nice dunk from Hezonja in the yesterday's Euroleague game.
