So, how's it going?
Great. Thanks for asking. On vacation with my family. How about you?
So, how's it going?
it is a stupid mistake to sign 4 year 40 million dollar deal. he is not putting on the court being worth 10 million a year first of all. Plus he isnt even a good fit with hayward, plus there is dante coming from back. my only hope is he will get traded next year but who the hell will agree to pay this contract?
it is not that i dont like burks but he is just a skilled scorer, not a team player. definitely a bad fit for what we are trying to build
This is a good move. The contract means the Jazz are betting on his development. They wanted to do smart business and if he's developing the way they envision his contract is going to be an asset. They regret not meeting Hayward's demand last fall. So this summer they were like: quality 2 guards with size are very rare, so let's overpay on paper and try to develop his playmaking and defense so the whole package is worth his contract.
Utah is 8-12 and playing competitively since Burks went down. A pathetic 9-29 before.
Why they locked up an injured guy for 4 years, who plays a highly injury risk game and whose stats don't translate into wins will be one of the most baffling Jazz moves of all time.
Oh, and Trey Burke has a higher defensive win shares than Alec.

You make it sound like he was injured at the time he was re-signed.

Just like the Jazz could count on Hayward going into free agency and getting way less. Oh wait...His contract was a huge reach and a big gamble IMO, and I love Burks. We'll see if he lives up to it.
It definitely doesn't look good tho. The Jazz overpay on potential for a guard that gets hurt right after he inks the deal. He could've gone into FA and the Jazz could've picked him up for waaaaaaaay cheaper. DL fumbled on this one unfortunately.
Seriously. So lucky.Alec was lucky Kobe's corpse only played 20 minutes last night and he didn't have to be guarded, or be guarded. All those assisted buckets were nice too.
Well Burks passing seems much improved. His vision seems much improved.
