What's new

College Basketball '14-15......

I don't think BYU is going to be blown out by anybody this year. They don't really have anybody that is totally out of control this year. Last year, they'd get down and Matt Carlino would start jacking shots up and try to play superman and go like 20% from the field trying to bring them back and just dig a deeper hole for them usually in the process. And Frank Bartley was the other guy that was really rattled in SLC last year and he basically doesn't get any playing time anymore.

Them being horrible in that game last year definitely does add some caution to any optimistic thoughts going in, but being at home, I'm still expecting a win.

Said it before, but I see this game as a total coin flip, BUT with a chance Utah could railroad the cougs like last year.
Yup

BYU kid had a triple double over the weekend, against Hawaii, but still. Tough to do in college.

That is impressive.

Runnin Utes #14 in Coaches Poll!!!

#13 in AP. Damn!!

Anyone here going to watch the Indiana vs. Louisville game?

Kind of interested in James Blackmon Jr.

Dude is still shooting a ridiculous 3pt%, now at 54% from deep on the year w/ 6 attempts per game. Could this guy by the next great shooter? Doubt he comes out this year, but could be a future late lottery/mid 1st round pick.

If this dude can play any defense he would be a great potential fit next to Exum. He is probably undersized as a 2 (only 6'3 in shoes according to DX, does have a nice 6'9 wingspan though) but playing with Exum would allow him to guard PG if the mismatch is too great at SG.

Really?

I don't see there being that much of a home court advantage between BYU and UTAH. Their only 30 miles apart, they share a market, and their arenas are both quite large. Large enough to accommodate plenty of opposing fans. Slight advantage maybe but not much.

Well I just saw on local news BYU fans camping out since Monday for this game so you can tell how big it is for their fans.

Just like when we used to play them in football, this is byu's biggest game of the season.

Probly about the 20th biggest game of the season for Utah.

LOL

Dick.

I say let the BYU fans run with these expectations. This team has 2 NBA prospects on the roster and an exciting blend of youth/experience/upside. Yeah, they're not Kentucky, but neither is any other program.

SG- Delon Wright
SF- Keith Van Horn
PF- Tom Chambers
C- Andrew Bogut

6th Man- Jakob Poeltl

Biggest game in years for the zoobs.

Biggest challenge for Utah is not looking past byu to Kansas and Pac 12 play.

BYU is 12-3 in the last 15 games against Utah. No talk needed. They own Utah.

I think any intelligent BYU fan realizes that the Boylen era of futility is now over. Yes, you have owned Utah over the past 15 games, and if Boylen was still coach, and/or Utah was still one of the worst programs in the country, maybe I'd pay more attention to that 12-3 record. Win or lose tonight for Utah, we all realize the landscape has shifted dramatically.

Game day baby! Rise and Pout!!!
