Although I don't think its a big deal I won't have done it, especially while be covered in sweat. Thhats why I say no. I feel also that this will unjustly add to the foreign opinion that Americans are arrogant and ignorant.

Seriously, though, this whole "royalty" thing is old - and meaningless. They've inherited a ton of money. And some believe titles are still relevant. In reality, people only follow them to see if/when they'll screw up or have a wardrobe mishap, just like "we" do with the Kardashians.

this all royalty thing is such a waste to british tax payers. Symbol of british empire. They are absolutely useless remnant of old times. Make some wax figures of some old kings and queens and put them in museum - same value. Brits should disband all this crap and let them "princes" go to work 9 to 5 , see how they would survive without regular people paying for their housing, trips, clothes, food, etc.....Disgusting example of medieval times TBH.

While England is our 1st ally we are not English subjects. We do not need to disrespect them but they do not need to expect us to adhere to all their protocols. Especially on our soil.

Anyone remember when Pres. Bush shook Queen Elizabeths hand and it was all over the papers there?

In short, we can show respect and warmth but not treat them as our own royal family as they are not.
