Following potential 2015 draftees

Is it still low and slooooow or has he improved?

Didn't notice it being low(scored a couple over his man, could be but didn't notice it specifically, will watch for it next time), but it was somewhat slow indeed...

This is a premium article so I cannot link.. but mods need not worry.. it's a UK/Calipari piece.. and it's all good.

Cauley-Stein finished with 16 points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocks in 28 minutes against the Tar Heels. During a 37-second stretch late in the second half, the seven-footer slammed a lob, finished a fast break with another dunk then grabbed a steal and called timeout to preserve possession.

That burst was enough to make anyone blink in disbelief at the athleticism on display. And before the two teams even took the floor today, Cauley-Stein had caught the eye of UNC coach Roy Williams.

"I watched him in the Texas game and he was unbelievable," Williams said after the game. "He affects the game in every way. He blocks shots, gets steals, gets follow dunks and gets dunk from guard penetration throwing it up around the rim. He goes and gets it. But he is a complete player. If you look at it, he affected the game drastically and only took nine shots."

Those I like that seem to be realistically in range.

McCullough
Johnson
Winslow
Porzingis
WCS

---

Not crazy about Looney, Harrell, Turner.

I like the list. If the Jazz don't draft in the top 3 then I'm not sure how excited I'd be for drafting another big. Your list looks solid though.

I am getting to like porzingis more and more but I keep getting flashbacks of Bargnani, gallinari, vesely and tskistivili (sp). not comparing their games just how they have never lived up to expectations.

Yeah OK, but none of those that you've listed have reputation as good defenders - Porzingis does. So if all else fails, he's got that to hang his head on.

If Anything Vesely should make you cautious about Hezonja.

I've been out of love with this coming draft for a long time. Not saying it sucks or anything, I'm just kinda meh. Like next year's better than I thought I would and the following ('17) still looks to be killer (as I stated when we made the trade for GSW's '17).

was it GSW??

Just grab BPA here and start the rebuild with Hayward, Exum and Gobert as foundations.

We can't just keep tanking draft after draft after draft... after draft. Sick of it.

So then, outside of the consensus top 3, is there anyone else worth trading up for? Anyone else have potential superstar/all star?

Hezonja has been a high-level prospect for years in Europe, while Vesely kind of blew up in the season or two before he was drafted mainly thanks to his athleticism. I think Hezonja is much more well-rounded player and has the much better jumpshot and he's a legitimate 3P threat along with his basketball smarts and all around game. Pretty much the only red flags around Hezonja are his attitude/demeanor and body language.

Of course lots have a chance.. but I'm not that high on anyone outside the top 3 to make any major rebuild-type moves.

Also I wanted to address the prejudice against international prospects displayed perfectly in some posts in the last several pages... I am not blaming you for it, because even US national media engages in it and perpetuates it. Jonathan Givony from DraftExpress.com a year or so ago shared that they've done studies and analysis about the success of international prospects... he pretty much said that the rhetoric about the "bustiness" of European prospects is not supported by any data and that drafting an international prospects in the first round is the best bet you have - in other words American prospects bust more often than international prospects.

No worries. I don't mind you having an opinion... I just wanted to give some information that a lot of people don't seem to have, or are acting like they do not have. If you find it useful, you are welcome, if not... oh well... it's me that wasted a minute sharing it... no biggie...
