Following potential 2015 draftees

Nice to see I revived the pro-Hezonja sentiments on the board. He isn't a shooter though. People on the board need to get that right. He is an athletic scorer, much likes Burks. Potentially he is the best of a mixture of Burks/Hayward.

For the first time in his career, Hezonja is finding significant playing time for FC Barcelona and for the most part, he's making the most of it. He cracked 20 minutes for the first time against Milan two weeks ago and scored 13 points. He followed that up with 15 points in 17 minutes against PGE Turow Zgorzelec and then played 29 minutes against Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul on Dec. 11 shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. Hezonja is shooting an impressive 44 percent from 3 this season in Euroleague play. His numbers aren't quite as impressive in Spanish League (ACB) play, but he did just score 14 points in 28 minutes of play against Zaragoza on Sunday.

I have to disagree that he isn't a "shooter", he has gotten a lot better

Extremely small sample size. I continue to disagree.

I think you're both right. I don't know if I'd define him as a shooter, but he has gotten better at it this year. He's definitely a scorer. He's savvy in a way that vets are in getting open and making plays.

He is much more of a scorer than a shooter.

teams have to respect his shot. I wouldn't call him a shooter but he can shoot it.

I'd have to agree with this but with Cy as well, he's not a lights out shooter, but he has a respectable shot. We'd need a much bigger sample size before we know exactly how good a shooter he's going to be in his career.

winslow no. he is shooting 19% on 2 pt jumpers.

Johnson is doing well but his shot is very flat and his mechanics need a little adjusting.

hezonja looks good when he shoots it. his ego is one of his problems. he takes some bad shots but when he is in rhythum it is very nice.

the way I look at it is if they shoot the ball am I surprised it went in or missed.

The point is, acting like Hezonja is a better 3pt shooter than Winslow or Johnson is extremely misleading.

There is also a lot less spacing on midrange shots in college compared to European Leagues. Besides, people who score in the midrange are characterized more as "scorers" than "shooters". A shooter is a floor spacer.

The bolded part. I think it CAN be a problem, but it also CAN be a great asset. He has an alpha personality. He seems like the type of player who'd take a team on his back and lead it to wins. He'd take responsibility. I guess it is a question of shaping and directing his ego in a productive and beneficial direction, so it would be a plus rather than a setback for his development.

I agree, but I also think that he has the most potential to get there. I like his physical abilities, I like how he scores, I like his defensive potential, I like his ego and his attitude. I think he'd be a great fit between Hayward and Exum. The length and potential for a Gobert, Favors/Kanter, Hayward, Hezonja and Exum lineup is intriguing.

my point was he can take Ill advised shots that will lower his percentages

I think the one of the big debates will be Winslow vs johnson vs hezonja going into the draft. what I like is the jazz should have a great shot at one of them.

Even though he isn't a SF, I think Russell belongs in that debate. Just as good as those 3 guys IMO.

I'm not quite seeing it with Russel. He's a crafty and creative player, but he can't compete physically with these other guys. Also, due to the physical disadvantages, I don't think Russel is a better prospect than Hood.

I am watching Stanley Johnson against UTEP now... the more I watch him the more I like him. Arizona is destroying them on the perimeter in D and Johnson and Hollis-Jefferson are leading that defense. UTEP has 2 pts in 7 mins of play...
