Stockton played 1 bad game in the finals,in Chicago Pippen and Jordan trapped him at half court making him get the ball out of his hands,destroying the jazz playmaking abilities in the pick n roll,but in most of the games he was equal or better than Jordan. Malone did have some freethrow flops and Jordan stole the ball late in one game from him with the Jazz in a good winning position.They put Rodman in to just wrestle Malone like a dam clown and that had some effect even though Malone won that battle.

Love seeing all the Trey haters shut up. I thought he played well last night too in LA. Forcing it less, playing with energy, and with more focus. The hatred for trey has been unwarranted, and over the top. Yes he's been frustrating, but hes also had good games, a solid rookie year, and is still a baby. Give him a chance to grow before throwing him to the wolves at 22.

Okay, I'll bite. 11 more shot attempts than Favors, 13 more than Kanter. Jazz were losing by 10 at home to the worst team in the league as Trey "lead" the team. Shot 2 or 6 in crucial 4th when Gordon stepped up and pushed the team to victory. Still a baby? Is he going to grow taller or get faster? He is a backup at best. He is fine for now until Exxum is ready, and that is going to be awhile.

Seriously, the criticism HAS been warranted. In many games he has been the least efficient Jazz player by a WIDE margin (most shots/lowest percentage). Dude has played like he thinks he's Kobe. I give him credit for last night. Almost all of his shots were good chances and came when he was open. Clearly Minnesota was focusing on stopping others and letting our PG's try to beat them. Trey took advantage. But is this his 1 in 15 game when he looks good or just an outlier? Almost every player has a very good game now and then. Shooting in the 45% range should be more the norm than the exception.

In my opinion a team like the Jazz can't afford to pay two bigs more than $12 million per year if none of them is an All-Star. Especially after the Burks new contract.

You are aware the estimate for the new cap (in 2016) will be around $88M, which likely puts the luxury tax at close to $100M?

Any contract Kanter signs this summer - even a max deal - may look like a bargain over the next 4 seasons. Yes, the Jazz MIGHT have to trade one if/when Gobert, Hayward and Favors ask for huge new deals. But why now? I'm not sure we know which two play best together. And having three sure helps in the next round of contract negotiations. What of Kanter is traded and then Favors sees he's got DL by the short hairs and demands $20M? What if we already have Kanter and Gobert and Derrick asks for that much? Financially, the ONLY reason to get rid of Kanter or Favors now is if the Jazz were able to sign a top-tier free agent. Then you need to clear cap space. And, as much as I LOVE Gobert, he is still wildly inconsistent. There are times Favors and Kanter need to be in the game for their offense.

While I've certainly done my share of defending Trey over the last year or so I have to say there is a lot of validity to this statement - Last night's game plan and Burke's 21 FGA's were kind of a head scratcher. T-Wolves have no one to defend the post. They lead the league in points given up in the paint. Jazz actually got outscored in the paint last night and scored more points in the paint Monday night against LAC who has one of the best rim protectors in the league.

Look, a win is a win. I'm glad to get them anyway against any team - but if they kept pounding the ball inside last night it probably would have been a cake walk. I kept waiting for the law of averages to catch up with Trey and see him go clank city. Jazz were lucky that didn't happen.

I'd have to rewatch, but it looked the Wolves were clogging the paint. Jazz were open on the perimeter the whole night. You have to take what the defense gives you. And last night, Utah had open outside shots all night long. Scouting report for Utah likely says double Hayward, push Favors out of the paint and let ANYONE else shoot from 15 ft out. Until you can make teams pay for that strategy, it's going to be difficult to dominate inside. I'm probably the leading Trey critic on this board, but he was FANTASTIC last night. There were only a couple of "bad" shot attempts. At times, he was the only one willing/able to do anything offensively.

This. I couldn't understand why Trevor Booker got so much time last night, while Kanter and Rudy had their minutes cut. Trevor was pretty ineffective until the 3rd qtr, but Kanter had already posted a double double by half time. I like Quin, but sometimes he misses the obvious mismatch.

I truly hope Trey plays himself into a decent trade, but it is going to take a lot for me to think he is actually an efficient player, or one that we should keep long term. I'm in the canp that his antics and limitations actually hurt the development of our other players.
