Following potential 2015 draftees

Talent wise, are we really a 20-something win team? The western conference is loaded at the top and the talent drop off for non-playoff teams in the west is huge. If we were playing in a more balanced conference, we would probably see improvement translating into wins, but in such an imbalanced conference, it will take a significant increase in talent and experience to start to see the kind of results we would like. So we will continue to get draft picks in the top ten, whereas if we were in the east, an equivalently talented team would get non-lottery picks. Using history as our guide, we have expect that conference imbalance will either balance out or swing to the east eventually. However, even if conference imbalance toward the west persists, the degree to which we are seeing it this year won't likely persist, which bodes well for the Jazz.

So what's the question?

And here's him talking about playing defense... and about focusing on his jumpshot in the last off-season. Seems like he put in concerted effort to improve there and it is paying dividends this season.

let's trade burks for another pick this year to get him.

So what's the question?

Haha, good point. I guess what I'm trying to say is our timing is impeccable to be rebuilding. We're stockpiling picks we probably don't deserve, considering our talent level, simply because we are in the west. Eventually it's going to bear fruit and I am excited to see where we're at in a few years when conditions start to shift more to our favor.

tl;dr: no question, just a mild outburst.

PKM, how would you comment on this:
Eric (Louisville)
What does the future look like for the Harrison Twins in the NBA?

Chad Ford (1:35 PM)
Of course the question came from Louisville. After the horrific outing they had in front of scouts against Louisville, it's going to be tough. You never base things off one game, and scouts aren't, but that game exposed so many of their flaws. Aaron is a shooter who can't hit shots. Andrew is a point guard who struggles to protect the ball and make good plays. I think UK would be much stronger with Tyler Ulis and Devin Booker starting. I don't think that will happen. I think John Calipari can get away with playing the twins equal minutes because of weak competition in the SEC. That will keep the twins from becoming discontent. But as far as NBA guys go -- virtually all of them believe that Booker and Ulis are better NBA talents. Right now I don't have either Harrison in my Top 60 which means they'd go undrafted if the draft were held today.

It's quite shocking for me to read this.

Also... his new Top 5 Board:

Chad Ford’s Updated 2015 NBA Big Board Top 5:
1. Jahlil Okafor
2. Emmanuel Mudiay
3. Karl-Anthony Towns
4. Kristpa Porzingis
5. Kevon Looney

Looney is getting seriously overvalued... on my board he's actually going down, not up.

Agree with you on both.

Harrison's have slid on my board BIG TIME. But there's no way there are 60 better players. I would probably have;

Andrew - #25 - 30
Aaron - #28 - 33
Looney - #9 - 12

Damn, that's a sexy top four from Ford, must a been creeping my list. Never heard of this Looney dude, but I'll have to check him out I suppose. Where's he playing this season?

Jazz need to draft the Harrison's and play them enough to get Malik Monk and Jaylen Brown in a couple years. Only way the titles are coming to Utah. Ain't nuttin great this year
