Does byu have a chance at this dude?

Last I read it was likely to come down to BYU/Stanford. But he still doesn't have the Duke/UNC/Kenyucky type schools offering him yet, which I think they all will if they have any ability to evaluate talent at all. Maybe Utah's more appealing to him than they were now that they've heated up too - who knows.

Bigger decision for him is a mission. From what I've read, that's the plan. But there's basically no precedent for a guard coming home and playing in the NBA after a mission. Missions don't help with quickness and jumping. And I think Shawn Bradley and Mark Madsen are the only ones to make careers in the NBA out of all the RMs and Bradley's a giant and Madsen's big + his hustle/quirkiness endeared him to SHAQ - which probably helped him stick longer than he should have. Maybe Greg Kite too - but I don't if went or not and he is huge too anyway. But none of the Mormons in the NBA right now went. Ainge didn't go. Britton Johnsen/Travis Hansen/Bradley probably would've been better basketball players if they didn't go.

But back to Wright.....I would take him over Burke/Exum right now....but I don't necessarily think he's a first round talent either. Did he match up with anybody that went to the NBA last year other than Kyle Andersen?

Utah’s best high school basketball player is back on the open market.

Lone Peak guard Frank Jackson has de-committed from Brigham Young University and re-opened his recruitment, multiple sources told the Salt Lake Tribune on Friday. With that, Jackson becomes one of the most sought after players, not only in the state, but nationally as well.

Jackson’s collegiate list, according to sources, contains some of the best and most competitive schools in the country. BYU is still under consideration, and the University of Utah moves into the picture as well. They will join UCLA, Duke, Arizona, Arizona State and Stanford in a chase to gain his services.

Probably

Thanks for the info

Jabari parker all over again. Sigh

He maybe doesn't do any one thing great, but he doesn't have a weakness in his game.

- from coach k's mouth.

I wouldn't see he doesn't have a weakness - he struggles with the long ball. But if you are talking about a overall ability yes I'd take him over Exum/Burke right now.

What a troll thread and poll

Nope. Totally think it's the truth. It's been jumping out at me the last week or so how much more I like him as a player. I don't even think Wright is a lotto pick. It says more about Exum/Burke than it does about him.

Burke is a backup.

Exum needed a few years in college/overseas.

No way he is better than Exum or Burke. I would love to see what Exum would be doing had he gone to UNC. People also forget how good Burke was in college. Wright is a very good player but he is a god awful shooter, his rebounding won't hold up in the NBA and he is over rated as a passer imo. Great college player but don't expect anything out of him in the NBA. Just my 2 cents. No Kyle Collinsworth love? The dude has 3 triple doubles already. Not sure I'd put him ahead of Wright but he's in the vicinity.
