Following potential 2015 draftees

Isn't it crazy that ever year the player I choose to pimp in the draft gets a significant draft stock boost?

Otto Porter went from mid first to late lottery to the 3rd pick overall.

Aaron Gordon became the 4th overall pick when he was in the conversation of 6-10th last year.

Russell is now experiencing huge boost to his stock, being projected as the 4th pick by DX from not being expected to be good enough to enter the draft.

I think we are witnessing something called the "Cy Effect" and it;s pretty powerful.

You are awful at this. Stop.

You can be a ball dominant player and still get a lot of assists. There are plenty of types who would be ball stoppers, but get assists. Iverson, Franchise and Arenas being some of the more prolific types. Getting a lot of assists does not equal good PG.

I'm not saying Russel is like this. I haven't really even seen him play.

Was about to type this and you saved me the time. So I will rep a dukie. puke.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not convinced that Mudiay is a sure-fire top-3 pick in this draft. I can see a DWill / J'rue Holliday potential in him for sure, but is he really on a higher tier than Porzingis, Hezonja and Russell (assuming Russell keeps improving)?

Would he really be tearing up the NCAAs? What if he never really learns to shoot or commit to defense?

As stacked as the PG position is right now in the league, is he a top-10 PG?

Yes. he is similar to John Wall. He is absolutely top 3.

I think it's kinda refreshing. He's like KKK's little brother. Reminding others constantly about his awesomeness in a desperate attempt yearning for recognition :D

Either I intuitively(and unintentional) avoid threads in which KKK is spreading his gospel or he posts a lot less than usual.
So Cy is filling my void of One Love basketball posts.
He also has a little PG_AB in him. See what I did here Danny Ferry?

Yes. Cy is both: kkk's little brother and has had a little PG_AB in him.

^I'm telling you guys.. Devin Booker has that killer fast release and torching it.

I love Russell. Would take him very high. But i get nervous about high usage guys. Id imagine Booker is not high usage but you are saying he has the types of skills as Russell. How does he compare in your mind PKM?

Not sure.. haven't watched enough of Russell. Russell seems to be more attack and Booker seems more opportunistic.

Russell is more ball-dominant, but I wouldn't call him selfish. He makes the passes he needs to make for the most part... he can create offense both for himself and for teammates. That's what I like in him. He indeed reminds me of Harden. His shot off the dribble is pretty good. He seems reluctant to go all the way to the rim and settles for floaters once he beats his man, but that's fixable... What I like about him is that it doesn't seem like he's forcing his offense. Versus Minnesota he was on fire in the first half and in the second they started doubling him and denying him the ball, but even then he didn't force it and didn't think he should be taking bad shots only because he was scoring at will in the first half. Instead he started assisting his teammates and creating for others.

He's a very intriguing prospect. His defensive habits need some serious improvement though...

Yes. he is similar to John Wall. He is absolutely top 3.

He's similar in that they both couldn't shoot well from deep at a young age. Wall appears to be much, much more athletic than Mudiay. Wall has speed that can't really be matched, and while he never really learned how to control his pace until recently (and he still struggles with that), Mudiay just doesn't have that ability IMO. I don't think he's all that athletic.

I agree, I don't think he has the speed or explosiveness of Wall... but he's seems a bit stronger and has great body control...

Here I go:

Is this the thread to ask what this pick (what, 6-10 range?) can get us in a trade?

We aren't one rookie away from making the playoffs and, sure, there are some good kids available this year that I would like. BUT, none of these kids lately are coming in as real difference makers. Almost all, including the top 3-5 guys, are coming in fairly raw with a number of weaknesses. I want to know what a pick in this range is really worth. What kind of player does that net us, that can give us immediate help?

Rudy is growing fast but has a ways to go before he's truly reliable. Dante, who ****ing knows? Favors and Gordon are really close to entering their prime and are very good pieces, imo. Now is the time to use assets to put the majority of what we will be in the next decade together.

In closing, I'm more interested in trading the pick. Thank you.

- Gobert is a lock at Center (potential DPOY)

- Favors is blossoming into a complete PF

- Hayward is a legit thread in the wing

If we're gonna trade the pick, I would be looking for a dominant PG who can score and I'm willing to give up Trey Burke and Dante if necessary.

The best point guard available potentially in a trade at the moment I would say is Reggie Jackson and I think OKC would probably do a deal involving Jazz '15 pick + Exum/Burke since I don't think they can afford to keep him.

Since assuming the starter role at the 1 spot—six games thus far—Jackson averages 22.8 points on 43.1 percent shooting, as well as four rebounds and 7.5 assists per game.
