Following potential 2015 draftees

There is a reason Porzingis is ahead of Turner in most mock drafts. You and I can't tell why that is, but that's how scouts supposedly see it.

Mocks aren't usually very accurate this far out, so any reasons you might come up with could just be wrong or misleading.

Well they are similar size, both good shot blockers, both pretty athletic. The only difference I can see is Turner's lack of performance against good teams vs Porzingis' sizzling hot 3pt shooting.

I think Porzingis runs and jumps better than Turner.

The last time there was a similar conundrum was Trey Burke vs Dennis Schroeder. Came down to do you prefer an American made car or do you go with European.

With an American car you know what you're getting. Solid, cheap, American made. European though has a bit more finesse, and that power to surprise. So far it seems the European car has a slight edge in performance with Schroeder a slight edge.

Who do you guys prefer this time round?

Yeah, I'm just saying that mocks vary and change frequently, so trying to read too much into it this far out probably won't mean much. I did notice that NBADRAFT.net basically has these players switched from where draftexpress has them. Draftexpress is more reliable, and they have better access/info to foreign players, so I'd tend to trust them more, but you never know when things will change.

MUCH BETTER. Turner has one of the most awkward and weird strides I've ever seen in my life in any sport(and yes, I've watched the Paralympics and consider them sport events). Porzingis is actually pretty athletic.
If I had to write down the attributes and parts of the game where they are different here they are.

Porzingis advantages over Turner:
+ athleticism
+ quickness
+ great on the break
+ finishes above the rim
+ turnaround jumpers (Turner needs to be set for his jumper to be reliable).
+ drives(from the perimeter to the rim) thanks to quickness and athleticism
+ better defensive potential thanks to good lateral quickness and athleticism

Porzingis disadvantages:
- frame - very narrow and skinny
- strength
- has some problems defensively because of the frame and strength with giving up too deep of a position around the rim
- defensive rotations and off-the-ball defense is probably a notch below Turner
- has some problems with finishing through contact round the rim in offense, because of lack of strength

Both have good touch around the rim, both have good size and length, both have good shooting stroke.

Well, I prefer Markief Morris over Jan Vesely. I'd also take Gordon Hayward over Al-Faroug Aminu. It's the conundrum of drafting potential vs. production. Will Exum be a better PG than Smart or even Trey Burke? Not unless he takes that finesse and trades it for more horsepower under the hood.

BTW, I probably would take Porzingis over Turner, but not because one is European and the other American. And there are a handful of others I'd consider over both of those guys. Just depends on Utah's draft position.

My guess is you're an American car kind of guy, am I right????

Spy's definitely got a European style/taste. I can imagine him wearing a fitted suit, tapered pants driving a Bambina.

Nope. Went with "BCA" last time I bought, which is a Hyundai Sonata. Absolute best value for the range I was in. Also happened to fit a need (combo commute/family car).
