What's new

Following potential 2015 draftees

That vid of Porzingis blew me away. He's hitting 3s off the catch, running the floor for dunks, contesting shots out of his area, making home-run passes and showing really good IQ. He's trying to set a few picks too, but he needs to work on that.

Imagine him and Rudy together. . . damn. Rudy makes everything better. All I care about is that the Jazz stay in the bottom 7 and get an impact player. Still think they should try to trade for a wing, but they're in decent shape if Burks comes back healthy. I want as many scorers on this team as possible.

Watched a little Stanley Johnson tonight. Haven't watched hezonja yet but Johnson is a much better prospect than Winslow. I'm firmly in the not playing manly for Stanley bandwagon.

I'm in love with his skillset, length and athleticism as well... the only thing that worries me with him is his frame and strength.

I think he'll be okay. His shoulders are pretty broad, and I think he actually can develop a thick base.

I don't see it. Like Cy noted previously he has a Kirilenko type of body, not Valanciunas type of body...

Dunno if it's already been mentioned, but I just saw that last night Russell had 33 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists while going 6/11 from 3.

Russell is a baller! He may get into the top 3 when it's all said and done...

Porzingis looks pretty awesome. Honestly, I won't be shocked if he ends up going top 3.

...and what's with these dark Euro gyms. Is the idea that if they don't sell enough seats, they don't turn on all the lights or something?

This particular gym in Rome puzzled me last year as well on TV. Either they have horrible lighting or the camera is placed weirdly that it doesn't capture the brightness in the arena. But in general I haven't seen anything similar in Europe before.

And zero TOs. Caught the second half. Totally impressive. He even has the big hands thing going on, as he was palming the ball and whipping around one-handed passes almost Stockton-like.

When he's hot (which is more often than not, according to the stats), I can see stylistically where the earlier references to a bit of Steph Curry and a bit of James Harden come from. He's just totally in control offensively.

Take the BPA and figure the rest out later.

Talent is talent. The more, the better. Drafting for need is how you end up with Trey Burke instead of Giannis Antetokounmpo. . . well that, and having the balls to take a young, raw player like that. You draft the best players (who are assets on restricted, manageable contracts) and you sign or trade for veterans to fill your team needs.

Yes!! You could do worse than have a 6-6, 6-5 backcourt, both with PG skills and both potentially star quality.

Great post. Repped. Simple, but effectively stated. Playing with Exum/Russell as our starting guards is very intriguing. If Exum and Russell can function even as well as Dragic and Bledsoe, it would actually be a huge thing for the Jazz. Especially because the Jazz are strong in the front court. Add star wings to the Gobert, Favors and Hayward combination and this team should be really fun. Starting to quietly tick Russell up my list.
