Will Rudy Gobert be as good as Tim Duncan?

Everyone is talking about the Spurs model but something that was crucial to the spurs was Tim Duncan. Will Rudy Gobert be our best player on a multi championship team and make multiple all star appearances like Duncan?

It would be hard for him to ever reach the level of offensive production that prime Duncan gave the Spurs.

Well if he can match his rebounds can Gobert play defense so much better than Duncan that it makes up for his offensive output? Just playing devils advocate.

The nice thing about Rudy is that he has done so well playing defense that the refs are starting to give him the benefit of the doubt on calls. It is quite possible that Rudy becomes something we haven't really seen on defense. The face that opponents are shooting in the 30%'s at the rim is completely absurd. Pair that with a 6'6 lightning quick pg that can smother the opposing point, you begin to put together something that the Spurs never had. Theoretically as that defense grows, it should lead to more fast breaks. I don't think we will ever run the Spurs offense completely, because we have different pieces.

He's a good passer, can make FT's, and obviously has been improving at everything at an alarming rate. So I do think his offense will improve (I could see him knocking down mid range jumpers next year like Favors is doing).

And like framer said, Gobert could simply be a defensive force unlike anything we've seen before in the modern era of basketball. He has even longer arms than Chamberlain for **** sake.

He could be the best center in the league in a few years. Idk if he can reach Duncan level (that's asking too much...Duncan is an all time great), but he could be our version of what Duncan is/has been for the Spurs, maybe.

Selling Gobert short tbh. He plays with a ferocity that Duncan never had. Especially on the defensive end. I'd say i'd expect Gobert to blow Duncan out of the water on D, and be about at his level, or even above, on the offensive side.

I wanna see Rudy add strength this summer. He's still pretty thin. Imagine if he put on 20 lbs.

I voted no, never and it's not even close. Anyone saying otherwise is just being a homer. And I'm fine with that 'cause I love me some Gobawse too.

We aren't talking about how you perform in bed.

That doesn't make sense. How is my performance in bed premature? What does that even mean? It's better to spend a couple of minutes polishing your insults than rushing in with the first thought that pops in your head.

I meant embarrassing.

I don't see how it's premature to call Rudy as good or better than Duncan. Almost every fan of the league would agree except jaded Jazz fans who are afraid of the success Rudy will bring us.
