What if...

The fact no one has made a trade yet tells me there are a lot of talks going on and everyone is waiting for something to happen.

What it tells me is everyone is asking too much or wanting to give up pennies on the dollar. Look at what Philly got last year for their players? Teams just aren't willing to give up picks for players who will be UFA's or RFA's. Kanter will have more value if he's signed to a reasonable contract, especially if the owners and union can agree on smoothing of the new TV deal. Probably not going to happen, but I think the owners are still holding out hope. And players are trying to position themselves to be FA's that summer if they can.

Wish Utah could at least deal Novak.

What is Booker trade value? Could he be useful addition to a contender?
Why would we trade Booker?

He does everything we ask him to, brings fire and toughness to the team and is developing a decent 3PT shot (his first season doing so). I hope he signs with Utah after his contract expires.

I think the time to trade Booker would be next season - but only IF Kanter changes his attitude and commits to being the 3rd big, still getting 30 mins, but coming off the bench. That just isn't going to happen.

So I've been out of the loop on the trade rumors going on today and I dont wanna read thru 80 pages...what's the likelihood of Kanter getting traded

Gobert getting mad about Kanter still being on the team?

And we all jump again on the tank wagon?! ahah
And damage our team going forward. This is old LA Clipper mentality. The perpetual rebuild.
A difference of a few draft spots (#7 vs. #9, for example) isn't going to make or break the team. But, when you find a "keeper" you hang on to him. Booker looks like a DMC type player to me. He's undervalued, on a very good contract, and is developing new skills under Quin. Not a player you want as a full-time starter, but someone who could definitely fill in when necessary and be a rotation player. Can you find an equivalent player in the 2nd round, which is probably what would be offered in a trade? Not likely.

No. I think they probably just wanted to keep him from having to answer questions about Enes, whether he's demanding to start, if he's responsible for Enes wanting to leave, etc. A good move by Utah to shelter Rudy and Enes until the deadline has passed.
