What if we are a boss *** contenders that year and that Thunder pick isn't great and we get a cheap rotation player?

We really going to need 2 more rookies next year? This way start getting draft picks for future moves or young cheap players.

Hate? Look at what DL started with, look where the team is now. IF it's true that Kanter and his people made it known a while ago that Kanter was dissatisfied and had no intention of staying with the team, DL should have been trying to get value for him earlier. A backup Euro center and a 1st 3 years down the line from a consistent contender is simply not good value for Kanter.

Here's the quick run-down:

Everyone in the league is going to have the functional equivalent of max cap space because of jumps in the salary cap from the new league TV deal. When everyone has max cap space, no one has max cap space.

New York and Utah are obviously comparable in terms of free agent desirability. So I guess you got me there.
 
The responses in this thread makes me think that the average Jazz fan's standards have been systematically lowered by The Jazz FO since the Deron Williams trade. ****ing DL himself set the standard for a Kanter trade not 48 hours ago and he went ahead went below them.

Sorry this is a bad deal up and down - and my guess is the fans for virtually every other team in the league would be going ape **** right now.
 
Given what we know, I'm not a huge fan of the deal, but I don't think looking in retrospect on what Kanter WAS (third pick) is in any way useful for GMs.

Yes, the problem is we had no control over the price and we had no control over Enes' desires. Do you really want a disgruntled player who doesn't want to be here with the team?
 
If this is the Thunder's future pick, then I hate this trade and DL should be reevaluated.

Signing Booker caused this situation in the first place. If he couldn't see that coming, that is worrisome.

This upcoming FA and the next capspace is super important. The Jazz need to make a big signing either now or next year so we can overpay to a player who won't be overpaid in the future, if that makes sense.
