Jazz trade Dennis Schroder to Pistons

I'm not interested in Richardson but Martin is solid on offense - hopefully he can get better on defense.

PS. A Detroit 2nd rounder is nice....

lost: three bad firsts, eubanks, mills, various small (for the nba) cash considerations

Gained: unprotected first, FIVE second round picks (some better than others), and KJ Martin.

Did i miss anything? (pretty sure all of the other pieces were traded again or waived)

So, if I'm understanding right, we HAD to waive JHS and decided to waive Richardson (plus trading Schroeder, of course) for the privilege of this pick and Martin. With the seemingly, low value of this pick it appears that basically Jazz decided that kicking tires on Martin was better than on JHS.

JHS must be seriously injured

Martin is also owed 8 million guaranteed next year.

Not sure what confuses you about this. The Jazz rerouted him
"Golden State has officially traded Dennis Schröder to the Detroit Pistons, who also received Lindy Waters III and a second-round pick from the Warriors. The Pistons announced the move as “part of a series of transactions,” part of the mega-trade that saw Jimmy Butler dealt from Miami to Golden State.

For the Pistons, the trade also saw KJ Martin relayed from Detroit (who acquired Martin from Philadelphia) to Utah with a second-round pick."

Yup, we never had him.

So the Jazz technically got two seconds in the deal if I have my math right.
