2025 Playoffs Chat & Chill Thread

Houston's big problem is that their main strengths are exactly the kinds of things that tend to not translate to the playoffs.

Jazz are going to be better than the Rockets in the future. I'm surprised they were able to finagle a #2 seed.

Relying heavily on transition offense and offensive rebounding will rack up regular season wins, but that all means nothing when you score the ball in the half court like a college team.

Sengun had a good season, but if he can be pushed out he's less effective. They're not getting good guard play right now. Jalen Green can be pretty erratic.

Lots of crappy blowouts. I seem to remember more upsets In the past. True, the lower seed didn’t usually win. But stealing game 1 seemed to happen fairly often. Instead, most of these aren’t even competitive by halftime with the upper seeds winning by 25+ pts.

Houston put up a good fight tonight. Unfortunately for them, playoff defense always proves that not having enough spacing and relying on macho buckets is not a viable pathway to success. The future of basketball is here, and it has been for more than a decade.

Still scratching my head how the other teams let Jimmy got traded to join Steph.. lol..

He’s a cheat code in the playoffs.

Except they did just translate. They dominated the glass and held a good team to 95 points.

FVV and Green just have to be way way better.

I mean, they just need a better primary perimeter option that isn't a 6' tall vibes chucker or a hot/cold 6th man coded two guard.

Translate to winning in the playoffs.

I didn't word that well but my follow-up post I think summed it up well: Relying heavily on transition offense and offensive rebounding will rack up regular season wins, but that all means nothing when you score the ball in the half court like a college team.

Ite crazy to me that Murray is wearing a long sleeved shirt.

The most OP move in the NBA is just repeatedly ramming into the defender and giving a little forearm. Eventually the ref will call a blocking foul. I really hope the NBA makes it a point of emphasis to remove these kinds of fouls.

So what do we have to do to become Detroit? Cuz they sucked last year. Draft long and athletic dudes? New York is lucky to only be tied, they easily could be down 0-2 heading to Detroit. Thibbs is so overrated. His teams always run out of gas in the playoffs.
